War can be considered as an honor fighting for their country in one’s perspective but can be seen as a nightmare to others. The poems demonstrate different viewpoints about war. The first poem ‘Who’s for the Game?’ written by Jessie Pope, encourages young men to join the army to fight in the war. While in the second poem ‘Dulce et Decorum Est’ written by Wilfred Owen, the message being conveyed is that war is dangerous and people shouldn’t get involved in it. Both of the poets have strong viewpoints about war, but very different opinions about the effect that it has on the person. Each poet develops opposing viewpoints about war to persuade the readers.
