The ongoing political clashes make it easy for any small outburst to be the spark for a global war of extermination. Many great nations attempt to get involved in regional conflicts, as a way of extending their influence in world affairs. In addition to that, the arms races in which many countries try to have advanced and potent weapons to use against their enemies. Also, it is not hidden from sight that the presence of many opposing military alliances could make speculations about a coming global conflict become true.

Destabilizing political situations remind us of what happened before the first two world wars took place. That makes us question if the nightmare of world war is going to happen again.

This study will investigate what could cause such a horrific conflict.

A potential new global conflict has been a concern since the last world war.

Numerous studies have heightened the possibility of the commencement of a third world war. In 1989, Goertzel published a paper in which he demonstrated this theory.

Furthermore, the development and use of weapons of mass destruction, for instance, nuclear arms raises the potential of the absolute devastation of earth's civilization and life. This research is vital for all human-beings due to the importance of avoiding such a scenario.

Research methods :

The aim of this qualitative study is to explore causes that could induce a global conflict by comparing today's status quo and the circumstances that led to WW I and WW II. Moreover, we would like to interview a least one expert to help us get enhanced insight into today's international political situation.
