William Jennings Bryan, an American politician and orator said that "Fate is not a matter of possibility. It refers option. It is not a thing to be waited for; it is a thing to be accomplished." My future does not push the hands of my friends and family. My future depends on the options that I make and the effort that I want to invest in whatever I wish to accomplish. I can be whatever I wish to be when I put my future in my own great hands.
People are often curious to know if they are destined to be wealthy or effective in life.
Opportunities might knock at our doors however when we are not all set to meet the chance due to our insufficient understanding, skills or talents, the chance that will shape our future will slip out of our hands. It is simple to set a goal in life however it is a difficulty to reach that objective.
Like any high school graduates, it is my goal to get admitted in a university and earn a college degree. However, I will have the ability to achieve that goal if I have a high school diploma, satisfy the needed Grade Point Average and pass the college admission exam.
Having the opportunity to go to college is not an assurance that I am destined to get a college diploma. I have a choice on whether I should prioritize my studies or focus on my extra curricular activities. Earning a bachelor’s degree will depend on the choices that I make.
The job opportunities that will come after college will highly depend on the knowledge, skills and talents that I have acquired throughout my life. Successful people like Tim Duncan, Donald Trump and Oprah Winfrey did not earn their success overnight.
It took them years of hard work and determination to master their skills, build a good reputation and attain their status. They believe in the importance of education, focus on their goals in life and made an effort to succeed. My future may be uniquely different but I am determined to finish my studies and have a brighter future for myself and my future family. Hence, I will take control of my life and destiny will be under my control.
