Irrespective of social status, caste, colour, sex, race, language, education and age every citizen must have equality of opportunity for the development of his personality, this is referred as social equity. It is necessary that a new social environment be created in which there is equality of opportunity for all. The fairness and justice to social policies in education and in governance is very essential and should be implemented in any sovereign state in accordance to the laws outlined by the constitution, which is commonly exercised by the public administrator.
The public administrators will be charged to oversee that social services are shared equally and fairly.
As a result of a great period of recession in the US, the administration of Trump made suggestions to cut relief to the marginalized and middle-level citizens in order to save more revenue. This propositions are to cut federal programs, including low-income housing, social economic development in the rural areas and workforce teaching programs, Pynes & Rissler, (2017).. This created a negative impact to their social life as they relied heavily on their day to today thus contributing to social inequality. The Trump administration is encouraging the local administration by necessity, if not by choice, to incorporate researchers to innovate structural changes on how to find new ways of collecting revenues. On the other hand the local administrators are left with the only option support at each other by sharing ideas on ways to shield, enlarge and sustain social equity and social justice gains.
Since the year 2017 when trump came into power, according to (Girald,2017),the social equality of the marginalized and the less privileged individuals and the global at large has really declined as the culture has been abused extensively by individuals from the high class in the society.
This has mostly been attributed to hate group empowerment, Niewert, (2017). In addition, there has been hindrances in the democratic rights and also in the decision-making processes. During this period that Trump has been to power, regarded as “the age of Trump”, has affected negatively the marginalized and the oppressed groups.
This are people with disabilities, immigrants, LGBT group, poor and the transgender people. For instance, there was a hitch in the Trump administration on matters of health as people perceived that he really didn’t care about the health of the sidelined people in the US. This occurred after his administration made a judgement to detach a family on the US border which brought about health risk, in particular the health of the children. This portrayed the Trump administration as one that undermines health in the US and in the global.
The Trump presidency has also had similar actions undertaken including the restoration of the Mexico City policy and the decision of the Supreme Court to uphold the travel ban founded on xenophobia and islamophobia stating that it is outlined in the executive powers. On the other hand, there has been a symbol hope despite the many challenges as this has led to the rebirth of a positive energy from individuals who feels marginalized and left out by the administration.
There comes emergence of movements to air their plea and fight for their social rights, this was demonstrated when millions of people gathered in the streets for the women’s march to protest against social injustice, consequently to express opposition to president Trump values and the policies that he puts in place. This was attributed by Trump administration regarding the role of the women in their homes and at work places, people united to protest his anti-women agenda. This persisted in the #Me Too movement and the march for our lives against gun movement.
It’s also evident in the case of J.D. Greear who was elected the president of the southern Baptist convention due to his strong stand in the inclusion and enforcement of the law on the social ethics of the US. This reflects a change in shift where at the end, an action must be taken by the national government thus a change in the in the social life of the marginalized people. There have been a large discussion in US about the social equity and the policies outlined by the Trump administration. The action of 45 states in the US to deny offering voters data to his administration is evident on the level of rebellion facing his administration as people rally across the country protesting on the abuse of freedom and democracy.
Nevertheless, it’s still possible to achieve a collective future with social equity, whereby the rule of law is followed to the letter and there is equal treatment to the marginalized people in the society by treating them with justice and fairness. This success will be met by understanding how to absolutely reach persuadable audiences, and by helping the society understand the legitimacy of the policies and how to exclude on the fearmongering on the social equity in the trump era.
