Cosmetic and Medical Use of Steroids
Anabolic steroids have a very bad wrap. Most people believe that people only use steroids to get bigger muscles or to be crazy good at a sport or task they are trying to preform. This is simply not true, steroids were invented by Dr. John Bosley Ziegler, and where made to help medical patients with many problems.
Some of these problems that anabolic steroids where prescribed for are men who have a testosterone deficiency. Testosterone deficiency is when your body does not create enough testosterone naturally for your body to be healthy. Steroids are also prescribed to help people with anemia. There are alot of different uses for steroids, good uses and also a lot of bad uses, but how ever they are used, anabolic steroids affect your body the same way. However if the steroid is abused it can lead to major health issues. Some of these issues can be fatal. Steroids are found in the body by the amount of testosterone and other hormone levels in the body. Steroids will cause your bodies hormone level to increase at a high rate, which intern causes a big increase in muscle growth and also can even increase a person’s acne, anger, and even heart disease. The way people find steroid use in a person is usually by using a drug test. These drug test usually consist of a urine test. These urine test consist of the patient urinating into a small cup and then testing the urine to see if it changes the color of the stick that is inserted to the cup of urine.
Cases of Steroid Abuse
There have been many cases of steroid abuse in the past and in the present day. One specific case that is ongoing today is Anthony J. Anthony was accused of possession of and the use of anabolic steroids. He was recently accused of still using and it went viral, but anthony proved he was completely clean and he did this by making the fact that he was drug tested 5 times a week very clear to everyone.
At an olympic standpoint steroids are unacceptable. With that being said there have been cases of steroid abuse in the past and present olympic games I believe that when someone gets to that level of a sport they live and breath that sport and sometimes the drive to win and be the best can overcome their sense and morals. I also believe that it has to do with the coaches of some sports, a coach dictates everything a players does and that could include drug use. National Institute on Drug Abuse. Legal and Illegal Use of Steriods
I personally believe that anabolic steroids should not be illegal in all situations. However I do believe certain organizations should have the right to make rules against steroid uses and be able to prosecute offenders of that rule. With that being said i do think recreational steroids should be legal, if someone wants to risk their health to become bigger and stronger than they should be able to but i think steroids should be tested regulated and taxed by the government and the FDA.
This is all my opinion, if a person is playing a sport for a reputable organization steroids should be considered cheating but, if they are using steroids to have fun or to become bigger, stronger or faster it should be legal for use recreationally in moderation. I also would like to say that it should be legally done in moderation, what I mean buy this is that a person should be given a certain limit on how much of the drug their body can handle and it should be on a prescription basis so that they can’t have to much but when they need more they should be able to go back to doctor for a check up and get there next prescription to keep using steroids. Now, when let’s talk more about the details of my legal steroid idea.
I think they are going to have to be made by a FDA approved company and factory and I also think that the all types of anabolic steroids should be tested and taxed. The amount of tax on these substances should be determined by the government of all the different states that decide to put my idea into law. But with that being said that is a whole other obstacle of making these drugs legal in certain situations, it’s gonna be hard to get majorities to like my idea of legalization of a very serious and very dangerous but also effective drug. Another big hurdle the new idea would have to cross is the sport organizations like the national basketball association or the UFC, which is already very against steroids and have had many cases of steroid abuse in the past and even still today.
Different Ways of Using Anabolic Steroids
The next big thing I wanna talk about is the different ways of using anabolic steroids. The most recognized way of using anabolic steroids is in a liquid form and is injected into the muscle that the person is targeting, it can also be injecting in the but cheek for all around increase in physical muscle growth. This way of steroids can be very dangerous, and could lead to death. The reason this method can be so dangerous when using steroids is because when load the syringe with the desired steroid you can get an air bubble inside the liquid filled tube and this can be extremely detrimental to your health and can even cause death.
The reason an air bubble can be so dangerous when injecting anabolic steroids with a syringe is because your veins are kind of like a “ fuel line on a motor”. The “fuel” being your blood and the “line/hose” being your veins. That fuel line is designed to hold a certain amount of pressure and a certain substance if you were to push to much fuel or some other substance into the line, the line could bust and rupture. Inside your body your veins are designed the same way, they are designed to hold a certain pressure of a certain substance and when you add to much of that foreign substance as in “air”, it could cause your vein that is being injected to bust and rupture which can cause a person to bleed out or have internal bleeding which could also cause a hematoma
One of the other common ways of using steroids is taking them orally. Taking an oral steroid means the steroid is either converted to a gel pill or has been turn to powder form and compressed into a pill or capsule which is then taken by swallowing the pill or capsule. There are almost no pro’s to oral steroids when compared to injecting steroids. This is because oral steroids are extremely hard on you internal organs and the rest of your body. Oral steroids can eat away at your stomach walls and will also wear down your liver because that’s where the steroid is going to be absorbed into the body. These side effects are inflicting your body every time you take them, there is no getting around them, where as long as you are very careful when injecting steroids you can avoid air bubbles.
