The term god is the creation of human beings. The very thought of god occurred to humans beings in this universe is because we saw the creation isn’t it? Is the idea of god ijust an exaggerated version of yourself?
” This is the representation we are provided with of Galatea. She serves as decoration, servility and compliancy. From all the connotations within Ovid‟s Pygmalion, women are demoralised and the question that arises is, what could be better – a woman who‟s beautiful and never t alks back to you?Men on the other hand are regarded as assertive and superior. Pygmalion is depictedas a sexist male who lives by a strict moral code, much like other men in his context,…...
In this paper the question of the existence of God from the argument of Anselm will be discussed. The relationship between incarnation and atonement play factors in explaining God’s existence. The focus point will be on Anselm’s idea of satisfaction and his Ontological argument. Let us now focus on the Philosopher Anselm as a person. Born in 1033v near Aosta at twenty-three Anselm left his home. He then stumbled upon Normandy, after traveling through Burgundy and France. A famous school…...
Consider that the universe is some sort of toy or form of entertainment for some prime mover, his point, his own entertainment, would be then why the universe exists. The Bible claims that the Christian deity created the universe and placed humans in it that they might be in awe of his power. If this is so, why is worship the correct response? The meaning of the universe as created by God is the entertainment of God, but what is…...
I don't have to introduce my topic because my title says more than I could ever say. God creator or God as creation is a very controversial topic. Personally I think that God created everything and that the other aspect seems a little off the wall. But as I research these topics I will be open minded to the other possibilities. I am going to start with my research concerning the proof of God being the creator. Obviously there is…...
Unlike Victor Frankenstein, God is the perfect creator. God created humans to conceive other humans, have emotion, and obtain the capability to communicate with one another. On the other hand Victor's main purpose in attempting to create the Monster is solely a science experiment. Victor creates the Monster who cannot conceive another monster and has to learn on his own how to communicate. He also has to teach himself to be social. Mary Shelley parallels God as the perfect creator…...
The phrase “Separation of Church and State” is not in the constitution. The first Amendment simply says that congress cannot make laws that establish a state religion or prevent people from exercising their own faith. It does not, however, prevent God from being acknowledged in schools and government spaces. Government should not interfere religion or religious freedom. Taking away someone’s religious freedom is like taking away their freedom of speech. A person’s religious freedom is another way of them expressing…...
My distant cousin Rev. Frank Sledge, now a retired Southern Baptist pastor, had “Love Never Fails” over the church house door of the church he pastored—yet I am afraid to say his life to me did not speak of love. It spoke of pride, it spoke of hubris, it spoke of being certain of what was in God’s mind. Who God loved and who God condemned to eternally hellfire and brimstone. I can think of no passage from Paul’s Letters…...
The unique testimony of John the Baptist, the last prophet, about Jesus, “Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (Jn. 1: 29) has its solid background in the Old Testament. The Baptist announced this Messianic prophecy to the people of Israel. Lamb was not something new for the Jews and the people of Israel, and the sacrifice of the lamb was so common in the Jerusalem temple. Then what would be the real meaning of this…...
God’s love is strongly expressed in the Bible from the creation of men till now. He has been shown throughout the Bible in many forms and always show his love to them like saving the Israelites from Egypt. We can see God’s love in the contents of the Bible, from the beginning of Genesis to the end of Revelation. He saved them countless times from many misfortunes. As we go through the Bible, God’s love are richly illustrated in it.…...
In the world today, we have several regions, different beliefs, and how it originated. Islam, Buddhism and Christianity originated from the sixth century C. E. and each had similarities in that the diffusion was attributed through missionary work and overthrown. The expansion of the Arab Empire in the years following the Prophet Muhammad’s death led to the creation of caliphates occupying a vast geographical area. Conversion to Islam was boosted by missionary activities, particularly those of Imams, who easily intermingled…...
Introduction In Coleridge, more than any other writer from the Romantic age, we see a body of work dominated by underlying theological ideas. I will be concerned mainly with the young Coleridge and his early work; rather than discussing Coleridge's philosophical and theological ideas about the nature of things and God, I will be predominantly looking at his the more subjective facet of Coleridge's ideas, expressed in his poetry: his relationship and emotional reactions to these ideas, and more specifically,…...

Bibliology, as most Christians know, is the study of the Bible, which is God’s word. The word “Bible” comes from the Greek word biblion, which means book. The original writings were prepared on papyrus, which was a plant that was cut into strips and dried. The word “Scriptures" comes from the Greek word graphe, which means writings. The idea of “Scripture” saying something is presented to us in the Bible, and is equivalent to God speaking. The Bible was written…...
When first encountered with this question, the answer seems almost simple and obvious: one, possibly two. All one would have to do is read Berkeley and count exactly how many arguments he gives for the existence of God. However, it seems that after reading the text and reading two of the responses to the text and a response to one of the responses, it really is not that simple at all. Instead it became horribly complicated with questions of the…...
If there was one philosopher whose name could be taken as a synonym for the Enlightenment, Rene Descartes would have a strong case for being the one. His contributions to Western Civilization are vast and impressive, contributions in fields ranging from mathematics to physics to philosophy. His crowning achievements, however, are his Meditations, in which he attempts to settle once and for all the lofty philosophical questions of the existence of God and the immortality of the soul. To do…...
“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” If you grew up in a Christian home, you must have memorized this quote culled from a passage in the bible at a tender age. Many of us have recited this absent mindedly without understanding what it truly means. One minute they a shouting these words atop their lungs with so much confidence and alacrity. Next minute, they are doubting themselves, crying and lamenting the woes…...
Honesty - The kind of behavior that others expect of themselves, to behave with others, this is the overall definition of 'honesty'. We look forward to affection, cooperation, goodwill, goodness to others. Just keep your behavior with others as well. All examples of honesty are embodied in doing this one thing. If you feel bad about yourself, if you do the same with others, it will be dishonest. We do not want anyone to cheat us, hurt us, weirdly, weirdly,…...
When reading poetry or writing by Ralph Waldo Emerson, there is the need to understand the feeling behind the writing. Such is the meaning when reading Emerson’s Nature as the writer explores man, a relationship with God, and the solitude of man which is needed to enjoy nature. Reading the work allows the understanding of relationships fostering the understanding of solitude and man’s need to be in solitude to appreciate nature which can be seen as a thesis relative to…...

The world of Philosophy can often be a tricky place and without proper understand of the texts and articles you read, you can very easily find yourself being misled. There are many that I still find puzzling and have a difficult time understanding. One of the arguments, that I find the most difficult to understand, is rationalism and using it to argue the existence of God. Each culture and religion have their own story as to how life began. These…...
People wonder if God exists. The bible gives the answer. God exists. On the other hand, we can know that God exists and there are many ways to ensure that. We know, therefore, by the inner sense of each person, we also know from the evidence we have in the bible and nature, all human beings have an inner sense and we know that God is a creator and we realize when we reache a crucial moment in their life…...
One thing I know and have learned more of is God’s love. Through this semester of the class Search for God, I found more and more of God's love for me. We learned this is multiple readings such as The Creation, The Fall, Redemption, Church, Bible/Scripture, Augustine's Confessions, and Mere Christianity. God's love for us is never ending. Jesus wants us to be like him, to live for him, and to teach others about him. God wants the best for…...
The act of praying and prayer in its entirety is a significantly important ritual to Christians. This is as prayer is used to build the fundamental connection that exists between God and the human person. Prayer involves not just the body, but the soul of a person, as it is not just a physical act of saying a prayer it is also the mental belief of their one God. The act of praying is able to happen anywhere from a…...

In today’s society where there are many different religions, people who choose to proclaim their religion can be ridiculed (often young people). Although there are many different places of worship people have been attached to these places causing them to fear to return, therefore people should be allowed to express their religions and pray in public places without fear of being attacked or ridiculed. Everyone should have the right to pray but in today’s communities, some groups can find it…...
Religion played an important role in the daily life of Ancient Romans. Virtually every aspect of Roman life revolved around Roman religion, which emphasized that their lives were controlled by gods and because of this mentality, a large amount of their time was spent worshipping them. Temples to worship the gods were built throughout the Roman Empire. Christianity on the other hand, refused to worship the Roman gods or make sacrifices at their temples, Christians were very adamant about remaining…...
Introduction Both Christianity and Islam are two of the largest religion in the population of the world. These two religions are also widely recognized as the basis for how the government is run in most countries of the world. Comparing the similarities and differences between Christianity and Islam, the clear difference are the practices and beliefs of each believer and the observance of God’s authority. The holy book of Islam, the Quran views Christ as just a prophet just like…...
If there is one thing that the majority of the world shares in common, that is a religious belief and with a rise in religious Globalization could perhaps someday unite the world from a religious perspective. The internet has become the connection or portal for anyone to become as religiously diverse when it comes to comparing and understanding all religions. Human values and beliefs are pretty much the blueprint or doctrine as to how we live our everyday lives. These…...

Introduction The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, a vivacious group of painters in the early 19th century, set out on a rebellious quest to shift the paradigm of British art through their artistic movement. To that end, these painters depicted a vast variety of content: portraits, religious scenes, literary scenes etc. This paper endeavors to explore in great depth the way that Pre-Raphaelite artists represented women in their artwork, and thus uncovers a critical contradiction which permeates Pre-Raphaelite art, the contrast between their…...
The gods in Homers Iliad were more physically and visually involved throughout the story than in the movie Troy. The Iliad describes the gods intervening on behalf of various characters or for their own reasons. In Homers Iliad the gods used manipulation to give them an advantage so that outcomes could play into their favor. Characters were emotionally manipulated, the climate was changed and certain characters in battle were given an advantage over others to win battles. The gods were…...
A Christian worldview is not just one’s personal faith interpretation, it is an all-consuming way of life. We believe in God; the creator of Heaven and Earth and everything good. Humans are created in the image of God. Jesus is the Son of God, he is truly man and truly God. Jesus Christ is Lord of all. We behave and act in certain ways because of our worldview. God is the center for all of our choices, actions, and decisions.…...
Of the many insights, American literature offers, most resounding remain the shared lessons of Freneau, Bryant and Emerson’s poetry. Their verses arrived as Americans began their search for national and individual identities, providing personal creation and growth, and their ideas and courage nurtured thoroughly American morals and virtues still held in high esteem. Freneau’s “The Wild Honey Suckle” and “Indian Burying Ground”, Bryant’s “To a Waterfowl” and “The Prairies”, and Emerson’s “Give All to Love”, “Each and All”, and “Hamatreya”…...
Growing up we all try to find our purpose in life and nature to do this we must see what things we value over others and why that is. Is the reason that you value something because of faith or family or is it because it’s something personal that you decided is right based on your morals and ideas. Growing up we also tend to hear is to be a leader and don’t follow which is misconstrued because to lead…...
When Rome declined, the western half of the empire formed the Byzantine Empire resulting in many shared characteristics. This includes culture, religion, and trade. Though both had intertwined roots, they each took these similarities and adapted it in their own way. The Byzantine Empire and Ancient Romans’ cultural ideas, religion, and dependence on lower classes is seen prominently in the Byzantine empire. Society in Byzantine was intended to flow in a natural order reflective of the heavens, the structure was…...

It is often said, “beauty is only skin deep”. How you look on the outside is less valuable than who you are on the inside. But is this true? It's hard to tell with all the magazines and television shows that have men and women with the “perfect” weight, “perfect” eye color, “perfect” hairstyle, “perfect” everything. How do we know that it’s alright not to look flawless? That being beautiful isn’t all about how you look? There aren’t many magazines,…...
The meditations reflect the value of the Roman empire by proving that the Romans value philosophy, education, and diligence. This document, titled the meditations by Marcus Aurelius, was written in Rome during the year 171 A.D. In this document the author discusses his thought and ideas on Stoic philosophy. He believes that someone could live a great life thought they have to live life according to certain rules. He believed each and everyone was connected to nature in some way.…...
The virgin birth of Jesus Christ was necessary in order to show that he was fully God and fully human. If He had been created by God and sent down, we couldn’t have seen Him as “one of us”. He is accepted because of His ability to relate to our needs. Mary was betrothed to Joseph, and an angel came to her and told her that she was pregnant. She argued at first, saying that she was a virgin and…...
The unity of the Bible is demonstrated through the Divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit on the human authors of Scripture. What is unique about the Bible is that it is all one big story about God and His people. The Bible has four major elements in it: creation, the fall, redemption, and restoration. When all of those are put together, it makes a unified message of the Bible. The sin nature and Jesus Christ are two topics in the…...
Part I What is a Worldview? A worldview is a set of guide rails, blueprint, framework, or lens one employs to determine how they perceive the world around them, which impact not only the spirit but the mind and body as well (Gutierrez & Weider, 2014). Each person has a worldview, which they employ as a specific guide when making decisions and setting their system of beliefs (Ryken, 2013). For example, just like using a secret decoder to unlock a…...
Christian values have often been identified as compassion, forgiveness, justice and peace. However, these can also be described as essential human values, further society without having to turn to belief in afterlife or a saviour Lord. However, the claim that Christian values are ‘distinctive’ seems to separate the spiritual from the human and this would conflict with the message of the incarnation – God bringing together the human and divine. Firstly, the Gospels set the example of Christian values of…...
The night is a memoir written by Elie Wiesel who was a Holocaust survivor, Jewish writer, professor, political activist, and Nobel Laureate. The memoir is about Elie Wiesel and what he went through and his experiences during the Holocaust. He wrote the memoir to try and prevent events such as the Holocaust from happening again. He (Elie) grew up in a small town named Sighet (was known as Sighet in Hungary Transylvania and now known as Sighetu Marmației, which is…...
For the purpose of this essay, I would like to clarify that 'senses' as mentioned above, refer to the senses of touch, smell, sight, hearing and taste. In my opinion, truth is something that can be justified by the three theories of coherence, correspondence and pragmatism. We should trust our senses to give us the truth only when they are backed by solid reasoning, and when our senses give us truth that can be considered true when all the three…...
Slave owners would not treat their slaves as people, just as simple machines that required little maintenance. Some would even punish a man for something that he had not done yet just to instill the fear of the Lord and His vengeance in him (Graiff 1). Douglass says, "Prior to my conversion, I relied upon my own depravity to shield and sustain me in my savage barbarity; but after my conversion, I found religious sanction and support for my…...
The moment we were born and opened our eyes we could see so much creation. Before you came here so much has already happened, obviously, you did not create it. So you thought there must be a creator and the moment you thought there is a creator because you are in a human form, you think that a god is a man. You thought that it must be a big man as a small man like me cannot do all the creation so it must be a big man. We cannot define ourselves perfectly or correctly then how can we define the source if this huge creation which is called as a god. It has no such definition.
God and Belief in Culture
Whatever knowledge we have is nothing but cultural nonsense as in whichever culture you are born in you tend to follow the same god which is followed culturally. The idea of god varies from culture to culture with different beliefs and ideas.
In India people have 33 million gods and goddesses. There is something called devtas which means you can create your own god today, in case you cannot believe in the existing god. If you do not like any god in existence then you can create your god such as a tress as a god, a rock as a god, your mother as your god, etc. Nobody finds anything weird in this country because we believe that this is our making. All the epics are not fake and there are buildings there which prove that they were there. All the fight in the world is the one man’s belief versus another man’s belief. Today there is a seeking in the human being rather than just pumping up them with a belief.
Believers and Non-Believers
There are people who do not believe in god but still for that particular person, the sun comes for him/her every morning, the flower also blossoms for him, for him/her life also happens.
