Categories: GodJesus Christ

It was evident that the Holy spirit gave her wisdom to train him, as He was filled by the grace of God with wisdom and strong in spirit. Jesus garnered spiritual teachings from His environment in His life, from nature; in plants and animals. He had powers that He never abused to ease His work as a carpenter, nor use it to overcome temptations.

Jesus glorified God in all circumstances,

He lived a holy life even though He dwelt in Nazareth a place filled with temptation due to their wickedness. He gained mental and moral powers through His communion with God by praying. On receiving the values of the laws into His heart, God image was ever present in His mind and soul. Jesus acknowledges God as His father and knew that there was time for everything “He said, 'I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

Significance – (page 68; paragraph 1) “The powers of mind and body developed gradually, in keeping with the laws of childhood.” It reveals to us that our physical and mental powers grow as we follow the laws of God in building our spiritual aspect. (page 69; paragraph 3)

“His willing hands were ever ready to serve other… the grace of unselfish courtesy.” Like Jesus we should be helpful to others and aspire to gain the qualities such as Him. (page 69; paragraph 4) “Through the Holy Spirit she received wisdom to co-operate with the heavenly agencies in the development of this child.” This reveals to us that with the aide of the Holy Spirit, we can do any task even if were not familiar or have the knowledge in it. (page 69; paragraph 5) “The Lord had directed that even from babyhood the children should be taught of His goodness and His greatness” This signifies that we should not wait until the child is of age to read before we bring the child up in the word of God. But that they should be grown in the church on a regular basis that they will have experience of the power of God. (page 69; paragraph 6) “In their search after knowledge, they turned away from the Source of wisdom. The great essentials of the service of God were neglected.” This reveals that we should not just be committed to learn new knowledge of the world but have a balance of the spiritual knowledge. As following the source of wisdom, which is God we will know the things of the world as He is the creator. (page 70; paragraph 1) “His mother was His first human teacher... He did not seek the schools of the rabbis.” This shows us that we don’t necessarily need to go to any authorities to be educated based on a certain knowledge.

But that God can speak through anyone to us a message or a lesson on life. In addition, from (page 70; paragraph 2) “He gathered stores of scientific knowledge from nature. He studied the life of plants and animals, and the life of man.” It proves that knowledge/lessons are not only learned from persons, but is evident within our surroundings, the simple things that we overlook in life. (page 71; paragraph 1) “Yet He was not exempt from temptation. The inhabitants of Nazareth were proverbial for their wickedness.” This is a key message to us that Jesus was in the worst of region with vast temptations, yet still He didn’t yield to any. Revealing to us that we also can be strong in faith and retain our purity. (page 72; paragraph 1) “His industrious life there were no idle moments to invite temptation. No aimless hours opened the way for corrupting associations.” It reveals that we should always find something productive to do with our time or will be open to temptations, as the proverb says, “The devil finds work for idle hands.”

As such in (paragraph 3): “Our work should be performed with exactness and thoroughness…to do that will be beneficial to themselves and helpful to others.” It reveals to us that we should not only be interested in school work but do manual training to be industrious with our hands. As it builds physical strength and being able to help ourselves and others. (page 72; paragraph 2) “Temptation, poverty, adversity, is the very discipline needed to develop purity and firmness.” We can learn from this that being affected by these three things, even though they are difficult to overcome, and that God will not give us more than we can bear, they are there to teach us and develop our faith in God. (page 73; paragraph 1) “I must work the works of Him that sent Me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” This implies to us that we should try to complete the task that was assigned to us by God and work on any task early and not put things off until tomorrow.
