Unforgettable Moment of My Life

Everyone have their own unforgettable moment, including me. I have many unforgettable moment. One of it is the moment I went to my grandparent’s house at Terengganu with my family a couple years ago. Terengganu is the place where nature embraces heritage. There are many wonders of Terengganu and many things to explore. Actually, my father did not plan to take us for a walk at there. But he did when my siblings persuade him to. Luckily, our persuasion was succeeding.

Before we depart to my grandparent’s house, we pack our stuff first as usual.

I brought my hat and sunglasses along with me. My father always told us to minimize our stuff when we want to go to his hometown. He does not like so many bags in his car. However, I just brought along the unnecessary things as long as my bag has an empty space. The journey to go there took about six hours. On the journey, I saw plenty of palm oil trees, lake and greenery forests.

We arrived at our grandparent’s house in the evening.

They greeted us with an open arm. After we had kept our stuff, my grandmother invite us to eat lompat tikam, che mek molek and kuih akok. My father really loves the kuih akok. I remembered that he always buy it in the fasting month. Then we take a walk along Batu Buruk beach at Kuala Terengganu. The beach has white sands and swaying casuarinas living behind the shore, like a loyal friend to the waves.

I played kite with my siblings, riding a horse and soak my legs in the water at the seaside.

The next morning I went to Terengganu State Museum complex. The museum was acclaimed to be the largest museum in South East Asia. There are many century-old artefacts and artworks representing the state’s rich cultural and heritage. It houses the original Inscripted Stone of Terengganu, with religious decree inscription, which proves the acceptance of Islamic teachings in the state well before the rest of the peninsular. It took hours to round all the part in the museum because it has many wings.

In the evening, I went to Tengku Tengah Zahrah Mosque or more commonly called Floating Mosque. It has a unique design which is built on a floating platform, giving a floating feel from far away. The mosque is built on the estuary of Terengganu River by one of the prince in Terengganu state. Combining both modern and Moorish architecture design, the mosque symbolizes the innovation and modernisation in the state. Constructed with a lake surrounding it, much like a moat, the mosque is popularly referred to as the Floating Mosque. In the evening, the sun shines on the mosque, turning the building into a golden colour while the cooling breeze blow from the South China Sea.

On the next day, I went to Redang Island. Redang Island is indeed one of Malaysia’s most idyllic islands. This tropical paradise offers pearly-white sandy beaches, sparkling clear seawater, lovely sunrises and spectacular marine life. Its marvellous marine fish varieties, turtles and huge range of coral reefs make it a wonderful diving spot and its diverse coral species are said to be among the best in the world. I enjoyed swimming and snorkelling. The lion’s share was when I could see the variety of fish when I snorkelling. It was pretty awesome!

I also went to Sekayu Waterfall. The crystal clear and cold water that flow from Sekayu and Tersat River and the beauty of the mother nature all around was so relaxing. The place was relaxing my mind and body. We brought our towels and spare cloths when going there. My family and I hiked the hill until the waterfall to get the best treat and view. The tired way to hike the hill was worth when we enjoying the clear and cold water.

Before we go back home, my family having time to drop in Payang Market to shopping. It is located by the Terengganu River. It is a favourite destination of tourists as this combination of a wet market and shopping arcade sells interesting local handicrafts like batik, brassware, brocade and songket alongside fresh local produce like fruits, vegetables and fish, or even the local delicacies such as keropok lekor, sata, sago and others. My mother bought silk cloth and batik; my father bought batik shirt, keropok lekor, sago, sata and budu; my siblings bought souvenir and I bought orange batik shirt. At the market, we can get the best price if we know how to haggle. The market is quite big and jams. Many people came there. There are also have trishaw, also known as tricycle rickshaw or pedicab is undeniably one of the unique attractions in Terengganu. Most of the tourists will be amazed on the efforts of decoration put on the trishaws.

After we done our shopping, we packed our things and go back home. I shake my hands with my grandparent before we are leaving. They really hope we will always go back there. My siblings wave our hands through the car sunroof as we are leaving the house to say goodbye. We had such a whale of time going back to the state where my father was born. I hope I will always go back there and go to the other places we did not go yet.

Example 2. The most unforgettable experience in my life

Today is July 16th, 2012. Exactly a month later, it will be Leman’s birthday. That means we will be celebrating Leman’s birthday on August 16th, 2012.. Jali,Seli,Setopa and I were best friends since our good old days in form 3. Now we have just finished our secondary school and all of us did very well in our SPM examinations. We were on cloud nine at that moment and celebrated our flying colours results at one of the well-known restaurants in town. Oh gosh! that was the best moments in our lives having the chances to celebrate the occasion with our female classmates,Siti,Aisyah,Murni,Tipah and our most glamorous girl in the school,Syafiqah.

I recalled three years ago when Jali,Seli,Stopa and I were the new students in this prestigious secondary Arabic school in town,SMUA Taqaddum Maarif which is located in Pasir Tumbuh,Kelantan-the so called Satellite City of Kelantan by the year 2020. Leman was already here until we were introduced by the five sweeties above in the class. We were all 15 years old then. Leman an active and smart student among the third formers was appointed the leader for all students in Form 3. He excelled both in academic results and extra curricular activities.

He managed very well in many clubs and societies and is well known not only among the students but also among the teachers. So Leman was praised by most of his colleagues in form 3 for his hard work and good supervision. Sports is in his blood and he represented school, district and state in soccer matches. He has won many prizes and trophies. We usually met after school and discussed on school homework, assignments and extra- curricular projects. Since then, we became good friends. Leman had suggested we call our group as 5A’s.

We agreed with Leman’s suggestion. One day Seli told us that in his village, there was an old dilapidated house which could be our meeting place. Every single day, when we had our free time, we would hang out and did anything there. We also decorated the house and painted it like a new one. It was very fantastic. The house was beautiful as the sunset. We captured all our moments together inside the house. There were full of photos of us inside. It was like our very own home. We would lock it up if we were not there.

Years flew by and now we just turn 18 in a blinking of an eye. We did not realized about it. So with our outstanding results in SPM,we went separate directions and were chosen to study overseas, in different countries. We were grateful to the Almighty that we could fly overseas and continued our study. But, our friendship was not over yet like many other dramas and movies as seen in the television. We maintained our friendship and always keep in touch with each other even though we were in the hustle and bustle of our own activities.

So for every semester holidays,we would assemble in our so-called “club” and hang out till wee hours in the morning. Finally a long semester holidays came and as usual all of us would come back and assemble in our secret club. Except for Leman,he had to stay back a week longer due to his incomplete project paper. Leman was scheduled to arrive exactly on his birthday. So this time we had planned a grand celebration and would call our female ex-classmates Kiah,Aisyah,Tipah Murni and Syafiqah. So we collected some money together to celebrate the occasion.

We did everything such as car wash, cleaned residents’ backyard, painting, and many more in order to buy things for the birthday party such as decorations lights, candles, cakes,chocolates,tit-bits and many others. We wrapped a special present for Leman. On the other hand,Jali who was rather closer to him bought him a big surprise, a car, because he knew that Leman wanted this long time ago. It was just a second-hand car, but it looked like new. Incidentally Leman would collect his driving license by end of this month.

Then we decorated our so-called “club” as beautiful as we could. Our secret place was full of decorations and we added some nostalgic photos, trophies cardboards and many others to make it a real memories during our nostalgic moments in school. omorrow shall be a big day for us. Leman knew next to nothing about all of this. While we were waiting for the day,we recorded vividly our school’s memories when we looked at those pictures hanging on the colourful wall. Days flew by, so finally August 16th, 2012 is here.

Leman touched down at KLIA International Airport exactly 12 noon. So in two hours time he would touch down at Sultan Ismail Petra Airport,Kota Bharu. We gave him a call and asked him to come to the club house first before he stop anywhere. We were waiting eagerly for Leman to arrive. The thing which we never expected to happen but it did. Leman took a taxi from Kota Bharu Airport when suddenly the taxi skidded and hit a divider. The driver was travelling at high speed of 160 km/hr and failed to apply a brake when a motorcycle was seen making a u-turn.

The driver hit a big shady creepy tree and the car just blew up in seconds. According to the investigating officer, the driver and the passenger of the vehicles were found dead in the taxi under the creepy tree. We heard the bad news from his parents. Our happiness had just turned into a worst tragedy. We never had the chance to celebrate the party anymore. Now,we can only see tears flowing down and celebrate Leman’s birthday for the last time at his grave. So this remain as my most unforgetabble experience.

Example 3. Unforgettable moment short story

I wasn't always excited to visit a theme park. Thinking back to when I had just turned thirteen, I had my first thrilling yet terrifying trip to Disney World. I have always been fascinated by carnival rides, but seeing the huge monstrosities that would throw people in the air in all different directions never sat well with me. What always amazed me was how ordinary people crave to be tossed through the air like vegetables in a blender, instead of enjoying the peacefulness of the ground. For me, it's the excitement of having survived the ride that draws me back for more.

My first ride was on the Ferris wheel. Looking up at the giant spinning wheel and its caged passengers, I was thinking the worst. It was huge, noisy and very intimidating. It reminded me of mythical beasts or dinosaurs. Even the roaring of the engines resembled a roar of a fire-breathing dragon! I sucked it all in and in minutes time I was boarding this enormous beast. As it started moving a sudden rush of adrenaline ran through my body. As the ride gained speed, I felt as though gravity held me in place. Ascending to the sky I was able to see the beautiful bright lights illuminating the park that never ended, descending felt as though I was falling toward the earth. I felt as though I was weightless as the machine continued to turn. Each new rotation made me feel more and more confident in the revolving wheel. Every ascent left me over joyed that I had survived what seemed like a death defying fall. As the speed got slower I realized it had been over, though I wished it weren't. Following my family members down the metal steps to the ground, I wanted more. I had faced my fears and I survived. What better idea than to ride it again! Looking around I had felt as though there was so much more to accomplish.

Good morning to my beloved lecturer and my entire fellow classmate. Today I want to share with all of you about my unforgettable experience that when the first time I have my own self phone.
