Most individual's lives are based off the decisions and the behavior of their actions. For example when an individual chooses a new diet plan and decides on what to eat for lunch, the food consumed, paralleled to food requirements from the new regimen will affect the overall health in either a positive or negative way. In most cases people are switching over to a veganism diet either for moralistic reasons or to counter health concerns [obesity].
What does "veganism" define as? Simply, it means the act of excluding meat and animal products from one's everyday diet. The term Veganism might be proposed as healthy regimen according to many Vegan sources [The Vegetarian Resource group] however, our society is oblivious to dangers associated with veganism.
As matter of fact, people are making a crucial mistake in applying veganism, because this diet, causes your body to be malnourished, impacts brain function and boosts ones chances of negative health conditions. What would happen if one didn't fulfill the body necessary input of vitamins and minerals? Ones' human body is to be considered sacred, but if the human body doesn't receive adequate nutrients and minerals it is susceptible to decrease brain activity, muscle function and prone to diseases in the future. People use their brain and muscles to complete intellectual and physical tasks on a day to day basis.
By choosing "veganism" a person would come shorthanded on nutrients and minerals to the body thus allowing the body to become more exhausted and brittle. Some useful information to examine is three important nutrients and minerals that come from animal products essential for the body to function at its full potential. One of the main ones is, "Vitamin B12, considered to be a water-soluble vitamin that is involved the function of our everyday body. When a person consumes B12 [mostly found in animal food] it increases the formation of blood and brain function.
Having an inadequate source of the vitamin, an individual will be at a health risk. As Nutritional activist Dr. Stephen Byrnes points out, "Deficiencies of B12 can lead to........anemia, loss of appetite, fatigue ...Impairment of the brain and nerve tissue that may result in permanent neurological damage" (Seamens) In opposition, vegetarians will argue that are still able to receive this vitamin over snacking on vegetables, but this is highly contrary due to one's body having a greater chance in captivating the vitamin from eating animal food.
Another one to take of account of is animal protein, this nutrient provides the body with amino acids in which their job is to produce energy that that regular protein [plant source] does not. When animal protein enters the body it increases the human muscle mass and provides a sturdy bone health. Furthermore a person with the reduction of animal protein, will hurt the body's muscle composition leading to less energy for physical activities. For the normal person in pursuit of healthy body, all these reasons provided should be capable of steering you away from veganism.
Yes, vegans will have negative attitude towards animal consumption, "I still get all the nutrients I need from plant" they will also express "becoming a vegetarian eliminates the risk of food-borne illness" this belief displays a person's ignorance. In addition, a report by the CDC [Center for Disease Control] argues that "almost as many foodborne illnesses are derived from plant as from meats."(3) Truly the only way to escape this illness is to practice appropriate food cleaning methods, not by eliminating animal food. Other claims proposed by vegans is their lower mortality rate when compared to other diets involving meat. Indeed vegans do tend to be more health conscious, but contrary to this, author of an authority on heart disease Dr. Russell smith conducted a research"...[showed] ...animal product consumption increased among ..Study groups, death rates decreased. Such results were not obtained among vegetarian subjects" (qtd. In Byrnes).
It's simple as that these beliefs are just a form incompetence to apprehend the value of consuming animal products. The perfect fix for this dilemma is simply, follow a diet that provides the adequate nutrients for your body. That action, will definitely provide you the path to optimum health. Over all the speculation on how veganism is a healthy diet to follow, people must reconsider the act of excluding all meat from their diet. Also the case that many mainstream vegetarian groups tend to use propaganda, and actively use misleading information to scare people away from animal foods. Bottom line avoid these scare and next time you're out grocery shopping don't hesitate to grab those meats from the deli, your body will thank you in the future.
