Imagine this; you have a class with an extremely incompetent teacher. She cannot spell, doesn’t implement proper punctuation, and all around is a terrible example. She doesn't understand her job or her responsibilities. In unfortunate fact, she is so incompetent, the other teachers allegedly do her work for her. The dire situation that I provided hopefully doesn’t describe your teacher, but it does describe our president. “Fear: Trump in the White House” by author Bob Woodward exposes this system.
In his tell-all novel, Woodward peels back the outer walls to display what is happening inside the White House. The most controversial novel of our time, “Fear: Trump in the White House” should be read by every American, so we all know the truth about the Trump Administration.
Woodward’s analysis of the White House might as well be a novel in the horror genre, a scary explanation of current events. Based on countless hours of interviews with White House aides and workers, “Fear: Trump in the White House” is not only a political, but also a psychological synopsis of every individual.
As Woodward writes and reports '[Donald Trump is a] narcissistic, cable-news obsessed, short attention span figure” and that his aides are “running around trying to impede his worst impulses”, that which Woodward describes as a “governing crisis” (Woodward - Via Seattle Times).
As other reviews of politically themed novels have pointed out, “Why anyone would read one of these when they could be reading a book about good-looking British detectives, or ghosts, or rockets, is beyond me [,] But here we are” (Quinn - Via NPR).
Woodward’s novel is different. His perfectly written masterpiece reads like a suspenseful horror, where the scares and surprises keep piling up.
Since the book was published, it has been challenged countless times by multiple people. Donald Trump himself took to Twitter to discredit the book, tweeting “Isn’t it a shame that someone can write an article or book, totally [fabricate] stories and form a picture of a person that is literally the exact opposite of the fact, and get away with it without retribution or cost. Don’t know why Washington politicians don’t change libel laws?” (Trump - Via Twitter). Others reacted to the book, notably Sarah Sanders. In a short time after the publishing, she held a press conference saying 'I do think one thing Bob Woodward got right is that he named the book ‘Fear.' But I think the part he missed was that the fear is coming from the Democrats,' (Sanders Via FOX). Sanders, Trump, and the Republican Party explicitly criticize when Woodward writes about Trump, “calling Jeff Sessions ‘mentally retarded’ and ‘a dumb southerner.’”
Thus Fear: Trump in the White House remains a life and mind changing book. A novel that is likely the most important of our time exposes Trump, his outrageous lies, and the White House itself. With independent stances on the current book, both for and against, it can force every American question not only the bureaucratic government but themselves. Woodward, perhaps the most significant name in the Political Genre has done it again and furiously composed a life-changing book that you need to read critically.
