Who am I to trust? Mary defied my orders by leaving your house and she made me a poppet which just developed problem for me; Abigail, (not that I trusted her to start with), must have been the one to mention my name in the court, and the worst one of all, my 'darling' hubby John has actually confessed to being alone in a room with Abigail. He knows how I feel about her and yet he breaks my sensations and orders.

I have actually almost lost all faith in him. It's as though I do not even know who he is any longer.

He continuously tells me that his 'house is a courtroom' when what he fails to understand is that the 'courtroom' is in his very heart ... Although I am slightly suspicious of Mary bringing the poppet into my home, I need to confess I owe her my life. I might have been among the thirty 9 who stand implicated, however thanks to my Mary, I am not.

One had actually spoken against me in the court today and if Mary were not there, I would have been without defence. I believe nevertheless, that it was Abigail who implicated me in order to take my place in my hubby's bed.

I made a good choice in eradicating her from my house. That complainant has one extremely large cheek, (make that 2); she clearly utilized her aim to entrap my spouse into sinning against the seventh commandment of God, and then accuses me of witchcraft.

She is the one leading others into lechery, she is the sinner; not I, not my other half, her. Not only was Abigail's act of perjury a fault in my day, but to then be questioned of my faith? Hale had actually gotten here at my home, just to doubt my faith and desire 'evidence' of my produced indictment.

Making me feel a little much better, however, is that he had actually previously checked out Rebecca Nurse, a soul so pure and white, I understand it was pure company and nothing individual being the reason of his see. However, the tone of his go to did not appear as wholesome. Noticing the frequency of our check outs to the church and the baptisms of just two of our children permitted concealed doubts to arise. My illness be the cause of our absence at Church, and yet individuals are so fast to implicate and point fingers.

On reciting the Ten Commandments, alas, I am not surprised to say, my John had forgotten the seventh and required my aid. “Thou shalt not commit adultery. ” John also needed an urge to remember the fact that Abigail told him the children’s sickness had naught to do with witchcraft. Unfortunately, our defence of our faith had not saved me. Cheever and Herrick arrived for my arrest and after spotting the poppet, nothing was holding them back from arresting me. They found a needle in the doll and immediately associated it to the fit of that Abigail which found a needle in her abdomen.

Needless to say, I was dumfounded. I had no connection between the doll and Abigail; I had not ever used the doll. I forgot I had the doll in my possession in the first place! I owe Mary my life for defending me and admitting to owning and creating the doll. My husband on the other hand, was not as composed as I, and therefore, ripped the warrant of my arrest in anger. Mary is yet to testify in court regarding her creation of the poppet. My life now lies in the hands of my servant, Mary Warren.
