Happiness is a state of being that everyone wants to achieve. It is characterized by feelings of enjoyment, satisfaction, and pleasure. Each person has their own definition of happiness. For instance, some people think that happiness comes from wealth and materialistic things, other people think it comes from the simple things in daily life like the sunrise and the sound of birds. So, it depends on each person and it has various causes. But, in this essay, I intend to talk about the three main causes of happiness.
I personally think that the three main causes of happiness are a success, eating healthy food, and being positive.
A successful life can lead to a happy life. For instance, if you are a successful employee, you are going to feel happy. That is because you are going to feel accomplished and the feeling of fulfillment is one of the huge causes of happiness. Being successful could also mean having good relationships with others, which means if you show good manners everywhere you go, you will befriend a lot of people.
Therefore, you are going to have relationships with your friends. And your friends can be one of the reasons for happiness.
The second cause is eating food. If you ask anyone why do we eat food? The obvious answer would be “to survive”, but in reality, food means more than surviving. Aside from giving us life, food gives us comfort and pleasure. Some people say we are what we eat, and that means what we eat is ruled by our own minds.
For instance, if anyone feels down, they would indulge in eating a huge amount of unhealthy food. In their unconscious mind, they are releasing the feeling of depression in eating a lot. Which is completely wrong. We have to be aware of what we fuel our bodies with. Unhealthy food could make us even more depressed. Unlike healthy food which boosts our happiness. So, we have to fuel our bodies with good food in order to be happy.
People do not realize how powerful a mindset is. Your mindset basically rules your entire life. Scientists say If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, make sure you keep your brain happy. Why? Because being happy matters more to your brain than you might think. In fact, feeling pleasure can be so stimulating for your brain that it is capable to respond to pleasure in a way that reinforces pleasure. In other words, Positive and optimistic thinking supports brain growth. Therefore, makes you happier.
In conclusion, happiness can most certainly be found at any source. It is not only found in momentary pleasure but genuine, long-lasting happiness, which is not something that comes to a person randomly. In fact, most people have to work very hard for a very long time to finally find happiness, to create the best possible version of it. Moreover, it is something that any person can build on their own. It is not unattainable. Happiness can happen to anyone, mostly because everyone deserves to be happy.
