The Mood Of The Tell-tale Heart

The story “Tell-Tale Heart” by Allen Poe is a story about a man who lived with an older man with a creepy eye. The creepy eye of that man led this younger guy to bad intentions, really, bad intentions. This younger man referred to the old man’s eye as a “vulture eye”. Which gave this guy an uncomfortable feeling to kill this older guy even though he loved him very much. Above all, the decisions this man makes are bad.

To begin, there was a younger guy, our main character, who lived with an older man that took care of him so he also took care of the older man. To shed light, they helped and took care of each other. The man killed the older guy he lived with because of his vulture-like eye.

Things that the narrator, Allen Poe, thought about were really different, like, really really different. Allen Poe has gone through different thoughts from being nice, loving, sneaky, and then to sneaky-killer.

He thought that having a reason even as simple as his own was good enough for him to be able to kill the old man. His thoughts were rapidly changing throughout the entire story, leading us to understand that is is mentally insane.

Now, here are some different things the narrator says out loud, external dialogue. The narrator was talking about how he thought he heard the old man’s heartbeat but really it was just his own because he knew that the old man was up to something, and it wasn’t anything good.

Here is a bigger picture, important parts of the story to give out a little idea of what happened, Allen Poe lived with an older man that loved him and Poe loved him back, the older guy owned the house, mansion, or whatever they lived it, but he allowed Poe to live with him. Poe was a mentally unstable man so he had some creepy thoughts going through his head that shouldn’t have been going through his head. Poe has been scared of that ee for some time and ended up coming up with a plan, a very bad plan. He decided to find a way to kill the older man because of the creepy eye he acquired. Poe walked around the house at night watching the old man as he was sleeping, then this one night he decided to do something about it and then walked around the house with a dimmed lantern because he didn’t want to get caught by the older man.
