Diagnostics & Treatment Technology In Occupational Therapy Occupational therapists through analysis identify the need of and adequately issue recommendations for adaptive equipment. These adaptive devices are used to help the patient complete activities of daily living (ADLs) and reclaim their independence. Grooming, bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding are all examples of ADLs that an adaptive device can help a patient with. The therapist upon issuing or implementing the selected technical aid must provide training to the client and their caregiver if applicable in its use.

The occupational therapist also provides guidance and education for the client and their caregivers. In an individualized evaluation, the client and his family or caregivers and the occupational therapist determine the client's goals. The OT then customizes a plan of therapy to improve the person’s ability to perform daily activities and reach the goals they desire. During the intervention, the OT constantly makes evaluations to ensure that the goals are being met and adjusts the intervention plan accordingly. Occupational therapy services may also include comprehensive evaluations of the client’s home, workplace, school or institution. Occupational therapy is the key factor in helping a child dominate developmental hindrances. As of late, it’s a growing trend to involve an occupational therapist in schools to give a boost to children who need to tune up their fine motor skills like writing, focusing, and hand-eye coordination. The tools that are available In the field of occupational therapy are trusted but tired graying pieces of yesterday’s technology. The sciences of Occupational therapy is at the dawn of a new era. The client's needs are increasing in record numbers and there is no one solution that can help alíviate their troubles.
