Tragically Story of Georgy

One night a misplaced foot on the accelerator instead of the brakes made Georgy the victim of someone's careless mistake. Rushing through the dark streets of his hometown in an ambulance, he attempted to hold back his tears while two supportive Emergency Medical Technicians comforted him. He suffered a minor knee injury.

Fast forward twenty years to the present. Now he is sitting in the office of the Medical Institution, with his purple gloves on and stethoscope around his neck.

I, noticeably worried, went to a meeting with Georgy Chemyanov, a plastic surgeon, a candidate of medical sciences.

We met at the plastic surgery center. Tall, dark hair, sparkling eyes, dressed formally, Georgy believes he is destined for the greatest things in life. More of a career-based individual, he wants to achieve highest in his life than what he had obtained. He has worked so hard beyond his limit to be where he is today. For him life is positive and fulfilling through dedication and hard work.

There is definitely something elusive in him. This is the right "built-in" in today, which allows you to talk about a person - relevant. This is an understanding of time and compliance with it, and somewhere, perhaps, a game ahead of time.

Born in a family of mathematicians and chemists, George made his professional choice early. From the 6th grade, he dreamed of becoming a doctor. He remembers: "It happened very simply - at the age of twelve I was in the hospital with an elementary injury and there I really liked the image of a doctor - a surgeon.

Nobody was against it. My parents told me: "If that's what you want - do it."

As an emotional person, there were several situations where Georgy wept for his family and loved ones. Georgy had a rough childhood from the loss of his dearest grandfather who passed away when Chemyanov was thirteen. His grandfather had been an inspiration and motivation for him, thus bringing out the best in him. His grandfather believed in helping other people and often mentioned: "He who helps people in need, will find inner satisfaction." Through this words Georgy helps other people in trouble which brings him a sense of relief and satisfaction. He believes he has a vision to reflect his grandfather's values, passing on a positive action for the world in his lifetime.

Without any doubt, medicine is one of the most difficult and competitive spheres. Chemyanov agrees and adds that he's proud of his choice: medical education is probably the best education you can ever get. He believes that this is a good profession, diversified, a great source of knowledge. In addition to anatomy, biology, physics, chemistry, you must pass exams in literature and foreign languages. He studied philosophy, economics, Latin and English. He entered the Medical Academy at the age of fifteen, graduated from it as an external student. During his last year of university, after participating in some surgeries, actively pursuing scientific activities in surgery, he realized that plastic surgery is the closest to his ideas about ideal work, ideal activity. After graduation from university, he had two diplomas: he is a doctor in one diploma, and a translator from Russian into English in another, with the right to teach medicine. Since then, with the perseverance of an athlete (George has an athletic past), he is moving towards his dream.

Growing up as a plastic surgeon, especially in Stavropol, was almost impossible. The inability to materialize the dream in his hometown took him to Moscow. Georgy came to Moscow to study plastic surgery after completing his basic education, and he managed to get into the Institute of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology, for what he is eternally grateful to Valentina Gennadievna Zmazova, the head physician of this Institute. Further work began directly, which, like any medical activity, is quite complicated. This is a big responsibility, which requires preparation, sleepless nights, but all this has been overcome, and today he does his job without any stress. If the work is loved, then the line between duty and rest is lost. At home, after work, Chemyanov spends time writing research papers, working on his website, answering his patients' calls - the process does not stop, and this does not cause any discomfort or inconvenience. This is his way of life now.

"If the work is loved, then the line between duty and rest is lost."

Before he became one of the best surgeons in Moscow, he had to pass the residency. Residency is the next step towards the actual practice of the medical profession after completing medical school. His friends, who were working with Georgy Chemyanov, describe him as an intelligent, hard-working person who is passionate about his job. Then they started laughing: "He was born with a good sense of humor." Once he had a conversation with his patient, a woman 40-45 years of age, who was complaining about the eye redness, he told her that she has red eyes just because she was looking for the true love too much. "I've never seen a woman smiling like that"-says one of his friends.

Has he ever refused patients? - Yes. The last example: a woman came with perfect forms, proportions and a third breast size, which she wanted to increase to the fifth. He was against it, refused the operation, but she found a more compliant doctor - she could not be convinced. He does not regret the fact that he has lost a client: "I have worked so much for my reputation that it is more important to preserve it than the mythical benefit." His work is his business card.

Once, a bizarre situation happened to doctor Chemyanov! A woman came to him well-groomed, looked good, the only thing he noticed was the nose, it was large and turned to the right side. So, she said to him: "I'm 45 years old, and now I'm ready." He replied without even letting her finish: "Well, well, I will operate your nose, no problem." And she said: "I wanted to get a facelift." Of course, he gave her a facelift, and a year later she came and had her nose operated on. Since then, to the question "What would you advise me?", he always answers: "Nothing, everything suits me."

When my patients ask me: "What would you advise me?" I reply: "Nothing, everything suits me."

George says that beauty is a mathematical and timeless concept. "Any beautiful face - Kim Kardashian, Angelina Jolie, Milla Jovovich - is, above all, clear proportions and great social power." For obvious reasons, he does not reveal the names of his star clients, medical secrecy in the case of a plastic surgeon is especially valuable. Chemyanov thinks that any artist dreams of his works being noticed and appreciated. His art should be invisible.

Doctors are constantly improving their professional skills. In addition to international conferences, which are considered quite ordinary nowadays, there are special workshops - life surgery (live broadcast surgery). Everything happens like this: the best surgeons from Europe and the USA gather and every two or three days each of them performs the surgery. It was the last day of such workshop in Miami. A few days ago George posted a small message on his Instagram story, mentioning an unprofessional doctor. He takes a deep breath and then explains: "I overheard a conversation, where one doctor said: "When I'm doing a facelift, I'm losing half of my life." Chemyanov was curious - it turned out that the doctor considered the plastic surgery as a "hobby." That is what Georgy is doing professionally, he dedicated his life to it, but for that person this was a hobby. Then he continues: "Well, I asked him: "How many facelifts did you do?" "One", - he answered. "So don't do the second one. You have only one half of your life left."

Being the best of the best is always a competition, Georgy Chemyanov hates failures. But nevertheless, he perceives them as something that gives impetus to development. In medicine, as in any other specialty, there is no permanent one hundred percent success, but if you are ready for any situations, you are armed. He always tells his patients: "I cannot guarantee 100% that everything will go as we planned. But if some kind of failure happens, you can count on 100% that I will be with you. I will do my best to solve any problem and finish the job. This is what you can count on." He is used to winning. For him to be the second? No. First or none. In any field.

Interviewing Georgy was exciting. He mentioned during his leisure time he enjoys watching comedy movies, going to the theaters and trying out new food. In the coming future he would love to have his own family. He wants to have three children, two boys and a girl, which depicts that he is not only a great surgeon, but also an outgoing person.

Georgy Chemyanov puts down his cup of tea on the table, quietly looking for an exit. I'm nervous, wondering what to say to end this wonderful conversation.

"Thank you so much for making time to meet with me. I know that you're a very busy person, and I can't tell you how much this means to me."

He smiles slightly at me: "My pleasure." and leaves the room before attending his next surgery.
