My Interest For Science, Mathematics And Computer Science

My interest in Mathematics and Science goes back to the time I was at school. It was in 10th Grade, I secured 97% and 95% marks in mathematics and science respectively. As I have been inclined towards Science and Mathematics, it eased my selection of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as my main subjects for Higher Secondary Education. During this period, my analytical abilities and quantitative reasoning have been my innate strength benefiting me in understanding the basic concepts and allowing me to secure an overall 99.

50 percentile in 12th Grade. My fascination with Science combined with my performance in academies drew my inspiration for becoming an engineer. Computers becoming my main interest, during my Higher Secondary Studies, lead me to opt for Bachelors of Technology in Computer Engineering at reputed CHARUSAT University, for in-depth study of the science working behind the computers.

Computer Engineering is a profound interest that has over the last seven semesters become a passion. This journey has evolved studying varied subjects, undertaking projects and attending workshops for skill-building.

It has also been augmented by actively participating in technical, cultural, and sports events on campus. Ability to make a mark and influence positively I honed through enabling organize events. Working and achieving in large and small teams also I polished through both projects and sports. Accepting failure and thinking beyond for the next steps also learned through these activities.

In the vast ocean of computers, the undergraduate program provided me with a strong foundation of Computer Science fundamentals. As part of my curriculum, I have taken courses in Data Structures and Algorithm, Analysis of Algorithm, Theory of Computation and Advanced Database Management System, which improved my logical skills along with my programming skills in languages such as C, C++ and PHP.

I have always strived to do my best and have adopted a rigorous approach in order to become more proficient and develop a clear understanding of the subject at hand.

I am most fascinated with how these Computer technologies, applications and devices have aided human civilization and individual human lives. During engineering studies up to now, I have not been choosy in selection of areas of explore because the aim was to build a wide base and make informed choices. First significant project came in the 5th semester which named “Final Pro Shooter” was based on 3D gaming. I used Unity 3D engine and the languages such as c# and JavaScript to develop entire game. Done in a team of two, the value of open source software and frameworks, need to tweak and modify to suit objective and differences between thinking and doing I ingrained through this project. Another project of mine titled “Image-Based Visual Servoing” was based on algorithms from Computer Vision, in which an Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System was trained using inverse mapping of data provided by forward kinematics. For this purpose, the case of imaginary 2 degree of freedom (DOF) planar robot was considered, for which computer simulation was performed. I have through attending other workshops added to my learning beyond the classroom, these has been in Radipminer – a data mining tool in the 6th, Challenges, Technologies and Need of Cloud Simulator Tools in Cloud Computing in the 7th semesters. Moreover, using an Arduino, infrared sensor, and remote I made a working model to control LEDs in 7th semester. The undergraduate coursework along with relevant projects has laid a solid foundation and cemented my interest in the field of Computer Science.

Mohawk College’s Computer Systems Technician- Software support program will enable me to build the expertise that I want and need. State of art resources both in terms of course offering and laboratory infrastructure lay the foundation for a highly conducive academic atmosphere which I know will bring out the best in me. The feedback from current and former students has backed this understanding with inside knowledge. I have secured 8.25(out of 10) CGPA in my under-graduation and scored overall 7.5(out of 9) bands in my IELTS test, so my profile has met all the pre-requisites for admission, thus I have secured my admission at Mohawk College.

Canada was the first and final inclination for me when I was in a phase to choose a country for my post-graduation because of some clear-cut reasons. The education system of Canada is brilliant in all sorts of ways and ranked as best in the whole world. In addition to that, Canada is a safe and peaceful nation with outstanding health care services. After completion of this course, I intend to come back to my home country with an exceptional skill set and join the IT industry, which continues to thrive in India, as a computer engineer.
