Thirteen years ago, my father arrived in America with nothing but dreams of success, no money, and limited education. Despite facing challenges, he landed a job washing dishes to sustain himself and provide for the one-room apartment he rented. After four years of relentless effort, he managed to reunite our family. Witnessing his struggles fueled my commitment to securing a college education.
My family's financial constraints heightened the importance of education, a commitment that echoes my sister's success, who, with a bachelor's degree from FAMU, now thrives as the credit manager of Sears.
The realization of how hard my parents worked with limited education ignited my determination for a college education. Coming from a family with modest income, the significance of education in shaping my future became crystal clear. My sister's graduation from FAMU, leading to her thriving career, served as a beacon of inspiration. Witnessing her success convinced me that I, too, could overcome obstacles through education.
Currently employed as a student library at the Broward County Main Library in Florida, I've embraced this opportunity not only for financial reasons but as a testament to my commitment to education.
