Important Aspect of Life

The most important things in life have a different meaning for everyone. Where once we may have thought that being able to go to Disneyland was the most important thing in life, has changed to something more complicated such as love. As life goes on, values and priorities change as they become more meaningful. People enter into our lives, and different events occur that ultimately may change the values we place on certain things. We are constantly on a pursuit that should lead to happiness, and a sense of achievement in the end.

There are many important things in my life that I value, and that I want to accomplish.

The most important things to me are my career, my health, and my family and friends. Many individuals do not value the importance of a career as much as they should. For me, achieving a fulfilling career indicates the beginning of a time where I can finally contribute to the growing world, by applying my knowledge that I have gained.

It means that I am fully independent, and that I can make my own decisions. As a woman, the feeling of success is even greater, since it was not always easy for women to attain a career.

Assuming almost half of my day will be spent at work, I want to be able to do something that I enjoy doing. It is not enough to wake up and drive to work; I want to be excited to face the challenges ahead.

When I arrive home, I do not want to dread the fact that I have work the next morning. A famous quote that I have heard time and time again, by a Chinese philosopher named Confucius is, “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life” (www. brainyquote. com). This is so meaningful because if one loves his or her job, then it will not feel like work.

Instead, work will feel more recreational than anything. My career goal is to become a pharmacist. It is a career that I believe I will enjoy doing. Even though there will be many obstacles that I must overcome in order to achieve this goal, it will definitely be worth it in the end. I enjoy science, and learning about how our body is affected by different drugs. The human body is so complex and diverse, that there is still so much more to learn about, which is incredibly thrilling for me. Being a pharmacist does not just mean standing behind a counter, and putting pills in containers.

I want to be a part of the Doctors Without Borders association, where I will obtain the privilege of travelling to underdeveloped countries and help the sick, and the dying. I feel that this will be a very fulfilling career for me, and the job security is high. There is also less stress associated with this job, so my health will not be affected greatly. Living a healthy life is incredibly important. I believe that some individuals continually take advantage of all the new and upcoming medical technology, along with the medication that can be prescribed to cure someone.

It is not enough to rely on these mechanisms, and it is not healthy either. I think people feel that they can eat and do whatever they want, and somehow they can always be brought back to health with a pill, or a doctor. This is not how society should be thinking, since doctors and scientists can only do so much before it does not work anymore. Why would someone want to be cooped up at home, or in a hospital because they are sick? Why would someone want to take pills daily, and have to experience all the negative side effects for the rest of their life?

I want to be able to travel the world, and see my kids grow up and get married. I want to be able to live as long as I can, so that I can experience all of the joys and possessions in my life. If this means giving up junk food and exercising daily, then so be it. It is well worth it to be healthy. Healthy means that I can enjoy a longer time with my friends and family; it means that I can be at peace with myself, and not have to stress about when the last day with my family is going to be. For me, family and friends are the most important aspect of my life.

I would not be where I am today without them. My family has nurtured me, taken care of me when I was sick, and raised me to be the person that I am today. They came to Canada for my brother and I, so that we could live a blissful and fuller life. My family and friends have been with me through thick and thin. They have cherished the good times, and supported me through the bad times. These are the most important people in my life, because they are the ones that have helped me to form my values, establish what I believe in, and taught me how to distinguish right from wrong.

They have assisted me in growing, and becoming who I am truly meant to be. My family supports me through school, so that I can attain my ideal career. They only wish the best upon me, and will sacrifice their time and effort for me any day. At home, with my family and friends, is where I feel at peace, and where I feel that the world is a little bit better, and a little bit brighter. One of the most inspirational women to me is Mother Teresa who stated, “What can you do to promote peace?

Go home and love your family” (www. life-changing-inspirational-quotes. com). When everything seems to be falling apart in the world, my family is who I turn to. When I am frustrated or gloomy, I can always speak to my friends, and they help to calm me down. Without these individuals in my life, I would be miserable and lonely, like a straw buried in a haystack. Undoubtedly, we all have different values and ethics that we cherish in our hearts. We all have high ambitions that we strive to conquer.

For me, my career is important, since most of my time and effort, especially now, is reserved for building and maintaining a career. My health is important because without it, I would not be able to go to school, to enjoy time with my friends and family, and experience life to the fullest. Lastly, my family and friends are the dearest to me. They are my safety net, and I can depend on them for anything. On the pursuit of happiness, there are surely many obstacles. However, once a person realizes the important aspects of their life, true happiness can be achieved.
