Human Rights and the Political Economy of Universal Health Care

Rudiger addresses the approach to the funding of health care by analyzing the markets of public and private insurance companies to make an argument of how the funding for a universal health care can be done through taxation. Rudiger's article uses and highlights the model from the health care movement and the universal health care reform in Vermont as Rediger article goes 'on a right based public financing plan and model' (Rudiger 67) that provides a universal health care for many Americans and economic equity.

The source is credible in my opinion due to the author Anja Rudiger credentials of not only having a Ph.D. in Political Science but also being a director of programs at the national economic and social rights initiative. I believe that this source will be helpful with my paper due to it’s not only providing ways fund a universal healthcare financially but also providing ways in which will help economic equity while also giving real life examples that are already in effect in the united states.

The parts of this article that I find interesting are the ways in which the funding of a universal health care can be beneficial in a way that cannot promote economic growth but can satisfy many groups of people. The Design of the model universal health care from this article is also interesting as it can play a big role in the United States as of right now.

Bulanda, Jennifer Roebuck. 'After Health Care Reform: Enduring Challenges for Justice in the American Health Care System' by Jennifer Roebuck Bulanda, Bulanda's article highlight the challenges in the American healthcare as there are problems in which leaves many Americans uninsured.

Bulanda takes it a step further as she enlists research evidence providing and going in dept into the aftereffects of health care reform and what's really taking place how it's affecting many Americans. Bulanda doesn't only stop there but provides recommendations and solutions that can help educate Americans about the medical care system and how current officials can address the medical concerns of many. This source would be helpful in my research paper as it can be used as a way to highlight the problems and possible some solutions that can help our current health care system benefiting many Americans.

I believe that this source can also be used to open up an greater discussion of how exactly can we as a country can change to help many Americans instead of only a hand full few individuals with greater incomes. The credibility of the sources is in good standing as the author Jennifer Roebuck Bulanda has a Ph.D. in Sociology and has a good enough experience of the social understanding of the mind of many Americans.

From the journal article 'Comparing Generic Drug Markets in Europe and the United States: Prices, Volumes, and Spending', the authors compares the markets for generic drugs in both Europe and the United States through data from 2013. Through result the comparison the study identified ways in which the prices and competition in the medical drug market could be penitential to many in ways in which could possibility save large amounts money that is often spent on name brand medical drugs. The journal also address and provides a reasonable argument on why 'governments should apply coherent supply- and demand-side policies in generic drug markets' (Wouters et al 554-55). .

This Journal entry is by far extremely helpful in my research case for a universal health care in the United States as it provides data that could possibly highlight solutions on how the use of medical drugs can prevent bankruptcy and less medical debt and reasons on why many people use generic alternative medical drugs or no prescriptions at all to avoid the high prices that come with it. The parts of this journal that would be helpful would be the data to provides a good enough case for how the united states could follow European's on the path of prescribing generic drugs to the American people instead of many going to other countries for their medical needs. The authors are extremely credible as Oliver J Wouters has a Ph.D. and a masters around health and health economics, Panos G. Kanavos a deputy director in health and health economics at LSE and Martian McKee is a professor of European public health.

These authors are well round individuals who have well enough knowledge of public health that can be greatly used in my case for a universal health care system. '2020 Medical Debt Statistics — SingleCare.' The Checkup, 11 Mar. 2020, www.singlecare.com/blog/medical-debt-statistics/. This source provides the reality of current medical debt statistics in the united states providing statistics in which are pulled from multiple sources that highlight the medical debt of common consumers. This website provides the many reasons for medical debt among many Americans in the united states through surveys. This source also provides way in which people attempt to pay off what debt they may have which can result in many different ways that can have many different outcomes leaving many broke and homeless or in full bankruptcy.

The source comes from a website in which provides services to find lower prices on medical prescriptions and by which is not an issuance or a prescription drug plan that can be used as one. The website provides a good enough of statistics in which are taken from other surveys that revolve around the cost for medical drugs and medical debt. This is a good source of data that can be used to point to how many of Americans end up in situations due to medical debt. Even though this website provides a good amount of data on medical cost it will act as a temporary source for my research paper as it is lacking in credibility as numbers obtained are part of surveys and does not conclude to the whole population as a whole.
