The world is full of potential, yet it is dependent on an individual's determination and ability to utilise the resources provided. Throughout my journey, I have been taught to grasp every opportunity that life offers and use it. My aspiration to assist people forces me to make every effort to accomplish my ambition of becoming a prosperous pharmaceutical chemist in the growing world of healthcare. As a pharmaceutical chemistry undergraduate student, I possess a strong background in organic chemistry, coupled with a broad understanding of pharmacology and biochemistry.

These skills combined with business disciplines will allow me to enhance my knowledge of biological sciences in a pharmaceutical industry whereby the search for new drugs to combat serious diseases still remains a huge challenge at the forefront of medical research. The purpose for being so drawn towards this highly demanding pharmaceutical industry sector is to take the opportunity to make significant contributions to the society and make a difference to people's lives.

Therefore, after completing my BSc, I have decided to pursue MBA at Nottingham Trent University (NTU). I strongly believe that this course will provide me with a smooth transition into my intended business venture.

During my BSc studies, I always sought to go above and beyond in both educational aspects and extra-curricular activities. While maintaining a high 2.1 and striving to achieve a 1.1 classification, I was also an active member of the Hindu society and the Debating society and captained both the football and the cricket team. These experiences were not only excellent opportunities to develop my leadership and communication skills but also allowed me to learn from a diverse array of individuals from different backgrounds.

The idea of using science in the business sector arose when I came across patents and marketing in the pharmaceutical industry lectures. Presentations and group work also allowed me to be more of an influencer rather than just a leader.

My work experiences have allowed me to understand customer service, efficiency, and interpersonal skills. From my time in Footasylum plc, I have learnt how quality control is a key aspect for a retail business. As a sales assistant, I developed confidence and persuasive skills as I had to make sure customer satisfaction was at its peak. I have also worked as a volunteer to help screen for diabetes and vision impairments in rural areas of Tanzania. These experiences encouraged me to develop a stronger sense of responsibility towards others.

I am particularly attracted to the MBA program at NTU as it prepares an individual to become an ethically effective leader by stretching abilities of an individual. Moreover, the MBA course will help me not only hone critical thinking but also address key business management issues that I have not yet encountered. I feel this is a course that will give me the practical hands-on experience which will help me progress for future management challenges; particularly consultancy skills and strategic thinking, whilst at the same time equip me with the specialist knowledge of international business proving relevant to this increasingly global environment.

I look forward to the various academic and professional challenges that await me during my tenure in the MBA program at NTU. I am certain that this program will provide me with the tools to further accelerate my drive and commitment to discover innovative drugs in this global economy.
