In this story Nick Carraway seems to have back and forth thoughts about Gatsby because of his lies but seeing how things played out in the story Nick ends up carrying Gatsby's lengancy. 'They're a rotten crowd,' I shouted across the lawn. 'You're worth the whole damn bunch put together.'(pg 154) after what happens in the chapter Nick is now seeing Gatsby more generously than he sees others. Nick has steadily calmed down and is going towards Gatsby’s side in the conflict between the Buchanans and Gatsby. Nick then suddenly feels the need to carry and protect gatsby's legacy!

In conclusion of the love triangle with Daisy and Gatsby, the affairs with Tom and Myrtle, and how Gatsby's lies towards the Nick affects the story, this story shows complication that real life people go through.
