Thanks for choosing to talk to us. Can you please introduce yourself, tell us who you are, what you do, tell us your age and everything else you would want us to know about you.
I am Judith Jemeli, aged 21 and a third year student at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology taking optometry and vision sciences and a bigtime aspiring model.
I chose modelling, because it's where my passion lies and I have always wanted to be one since I was 12 and also it fulfils me.
The art of modelling is so fascinating, being on the runway, showcasing clothes, making turns, smiling, competing with other beauty peasants, its really fun.
Yes I would, I have always wanted to do modelling as a career.
The probable risks are things not working as I would want them to.
This would probably be putting my profession on the line and then unfortunately my efforts in modelling fail to work.
That's my biggest fear.
I gave my first shot in 2014 and then I knew I could model when I was 17. I could watch fashion shows like Victoria's Secret and with such quality of models and I was inspired and wanted to become one too.
So far I have been featured in 2 events: Miss Baringo Rising Stars and Miss Campus.
The Miss Campus made me feel like I was in the right place, because I emerged second runners up alongside other 15 contestants.
I keep it simple and class, as long as something looks good on me and am comfortable with it, then am good to go.
This is my natural body and am grateful for that. Though I have never attended any in my entire life, it's crucial and I am planning to be going to the gym this year.
My bigtime role model is Lupita Nyong'o. Everything about her is inspiring, her confidence, her style and she is also a go getter.
Three years from now I want to be Miss Kenya and a top model and represent our beautiful country Kenya internationally.
Modelling in Kenya is not well appreciated, many people think it's a waste of time and for lazy girls, but in real sense it's as demanding as any other career. Another challenge is finances, especially in pageant modelling, a lot of investment needs be done for good outcome.
No but I chose to do it because I believe where there is a will there is a way, so better things are popping.
I would only tell them to live their dreams and be disciplined, this industry requires a lot of discipline.
Thanks for your time Judy. It's been a pleasure having this conversation with you. We would like to wish you all the best in the future and in your career.
