Humans were now beyond genius. We live in the time of technology as a medium of almost every single thing that we do. Technology is the making, modification, usage, and knowledge of tools, machines, techniques, crafts, systems, and methods of organization, in order to solve a problem, improve a pre-existing solution to a problem, achieve a goal, handle an applied input/output relation or perform a specific function. In other words, technology makes us lazy, it procrastinates us and doesn’t hone our thinking skills. Firstly, technology makes us fat. It made our lives easy and comfortable. Technology invention has also reduced our physical activity which is making us lazy. Nowadays machines govern us. In every aspect of life we are becoming more and more dependent on modern machines and have stopped using our body and brain. It also makes human reduces their physical activity. Weak eyesight is another common complaint, and staying most of the time in a room keeps us away from the beautiful scenes of nature. Technology also preventing humans from doing outdoor activities. We say that sunlight and fresh air are very important for a plant to grow well. Similarly outdoor physical activities are important for a person’s health and well-being. We spend most of our time indoors working with the machines and have very little time for outdoor activities which is very harmful for us. Children prefer to play computer and video games instead of playing outdoors; this is also not good for their health. We can also say that Technology makes human “blind”. It is said that walking is the best exercise. But nowadays we prefer to use the car even to go to the next lane. We should not use vehicles for short distance but should walk the way. This will help us keep fit and our body slim and smart. It will also give us a chance to enjoy nature and breathe in fresh air. Hence, technology procrastinate us. Technology, especially the Internet, definitely makes procrastination easier. Never before has it been so simple to waste hours without even realizing it. Like surfing the internet, chatting with friends and playing the role of almost everything. Also, technology is not a tool anymore, it’s the “delayers”. Truthfully, it makes humans spending too much time on the internet, busy chatting with friends, forgetting of what should they’ve done than things that can be done later.
It also teaches most of us to lie. Technology were so convenient till it act as a medium in procrastination, humans tend to build excuses from doing things that need to done. Take this statement as an example, “Oh, I’ll do that later after I go out to lunch” or, “I’ll feel like doing that tomorrow; I’ve had a bad day today!” humans trigger the excuses because the things that needs to be done is easy, like billing and payment. Now you can also do it online and make things were even more convenient. Another area is the scope of digital technology offers. The internet which enables everything from simple surfing to losing real-life identities due to prolonged participation in online worlds. Lastly, technology doesn’t hone our thinking skills. Computers, calculators and internet are sources of great help in diminished our thinking skills. we have begun to depend totally on these inventions. For instance, even if we have to add a few numbers or do a small calculation we take out our calculator rather than use our brain. Our parents can still solve such problems in a jiffy without the aid of a calculator. We should try to solve our mathematical problems without using calculators this makes our mind sharp. It also play a role in dampening our thinking skills. Technology, is an offspring of scientific knowledge, is no doubt a conclusive proof of human’s imagination. And yet it is, for some to suspect that technology as lessened children’s creativity. It is reality that children nowadays take advantage of such technological inventions as calculators to cover the work of mathematics tells us that children have decreased the use of brain incredibly as compared to children in the previous years. Most of all, technology is replacing the need to think. Technology is invading our freedom to think and work as technology is replacing people in many occupations. Why would businesses employ people to do the same job they can get a machine to replacing the individual’s need to come up with the answer themselves when they can just put the calculation into the calculator and have to answer given to them. It also invading our freedom to think and work. Technology invading us by dumbing us down, as well as being used to monitor our every move and word. It eradicated the need for us to use our brains for daily basics like math, spelling, and even telling the time. Spell check, calculators and digital readouts do simple tasks that used to be carried out by and. This has certainly dulled our basic skills. In conclusion, technology makes us fat, it procrastinates us
and doesn’t hone our thinking skills.
