Pros And Cons Of Driverless Cars

Categories: CarDrivingTraffic

If you imagine a car driving on its own, you will never have to drive again. would think it would be worse or better. Recent developing technology driverless vehicles can provide you this opportunity. it can make your life as easy as you can imagine. If it is advantageous for humans or not is debate among people for a while. Some people state that a robot could not acquire human acts on-road such as hand signals and control the situation under poor conditions.

While another claim that these autonomous cars are going to facilitate people’s lives as they have with the latest technology. They have many high technological features. Although many tests were carried out on self-driving vehicles, no decision was made yet.

Nowadays, traffic problems are too much, and driverless cars can reduce this problem. They have some features that will solve traffic problems. They have a system that knows how to control their speed and they can control traffic flow.

Drivers can be careless when driving or they can drive very fast on the highway, but driverless cars are made with the latest technology, so they can manage the vehicle better and with its camera and detection system can give way to cars around its and can adjust the speed according to the traffic flow. According to Daniel B. Work, self-driving cars will reduce the stop-go ratio in traffic and reduce traffic congestion or lane change problems. This means that the strips on the road will be enlarged and there will be more space for vehicles.

Those who are against this idea state that when driverless cars are used a lot, they will reduce people’s driving experience. Driving knowledge and driver’s proficiency will be reduced because they will always use self-driving cars. Also, the road system will be changing to be set to self-driving cars such as traffic and street lights, so drivers will forget traffic rules. If someday they will need to drive the car under certain conditions, there will be many problems such as car accidents. However, in any case, it is not necessary to use the person because it is the latest technology used in vehicles if there is a problem, it has a system that can correct itself immediately, and the fact that driverless vehicles reduce traffic congestion and accidents caused by carelessness is an indication that a great advantage. Also, it shows us that self-driving cars will soon replace traditional vehicles.

Self-driving cars will provide better transportation services. Nowadays, people are experiencing transportation difficulties. However, driverless cars can solve this problem. Especially elderly and disabled people have difficulties when they drive. Sometimes, they can lose control of the car and the accident. If driverless cars are used, elderly and disabled people will be more comfortable in transportation and they will be able to go wherever they want because self-drives cars have automatic systems and they drive themselves. According to Sovvik Bonerjee (2017), self-driving cars’ design helps disabled people to be more independent and can go safely. This means that it is convenient for these people. Moreover, it is not just providing benefits for elderly and disabled people, it also helps all people for better transportation. In daily life, most people use public transportation, taxi, and Uber. People pay lots of money for drivers and sometimes drivers cannot know some address. When self-driving cars are used, people will pay less, and they can go easily wherever they want because driverless cars have high GPS technology. So that people will have a cheap and good transportation system. Those who are against this idea state that driverless cars cannot provide better transportation properly. Self-driving cars are made latest technology and they have complex software systems. Therefore, elderly people cannot understand its system. When there is an emergency, they cannot control or stop the car. Also, elderly and disabled people cannot use GPS properly, so they can go wrong places. “driverless cars’ technology is not enough to help disabled and elderly people to be independent, but if artificial intelligence and machine learning are developed, it can help these people” (Saripalli, 2017). It means that autonomous cars should develop more because it is difficult for elderly and disabled people to make car travel. As a result, self-driving cars can solve the transportation problems of old and disabled people and it is and they can provide a cheaper and easier transportation system to all people.

In conclusion, Driverless vehicles will replace traditional vehicles soon, although there is a lot of opposing opinion. Some say that driverless vehicles need to develop a little more to be used and that these vehicles need more than a few years. Driverless vehicles are safer and more useful than traditional vehicles because they have advanced technology and have many features that people do not have. Nowadays, a lot of people died because of traffic accidents, or many people are trapped in traffic and are breaking the rules, or some people cannot drive because of their obstacles. Driverless vehicles can be a solution for all of these. If they are given a chance and used, everyone will see the benefits.
