The expansion of software-related organizations was carried out to fulfill Samsung Electronics' goal of generating innovative values and experiences by integrating its established hardware design capabilities with tailored software and a user-friendly interface.
Samsung Electronics has made several advancements in their bio and medical device business, including expanding their organization in charge of this sector and transforming the Bio Lab at Samsung Technology Research Center into the Bio Research Center. They have also recruited bio material experts to enhance their research efforts and have increased their support for bio similar and bio medical research.

Samsung Electronics has a total of 196 subsidiaries worldwide and employs 344,000 people globally. By the end of 2011, there were 101,973 employees in Korea and 119,753 employees outside of Korea. This marked the first time in Samsung Electronics' history that the number of employees abroad exceeded those in Korea.
