Antony and Cleopatra is a play by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written sometime between 1603 and 1607. The play was first published in the First Folio in 1623. The play tells the story of the relationship between Antony, a Roman general, and Cleopatra, the Queen of Egypt. The play is set in the years leading up to the Battle of Actium, which took place in 31 BC.
