Imagine a day when you will no longer be able to drive your vehicle to work or anywhere you would like to go. This could be a possible outcome due to the fact that over the years, thousands of cars have been manufactured and most of them run and depend on fossil fuels. Today these fossil fuels are potentially in danger of running out due to the use of them in the vehicles we travel in every day. Currently cars such as hybrids are being manufactured and are being brought to attention so this problem will be less likely to occur.
Hybrid cars are able to run on electricity and if the battery runs out of electricity then it resorts to using gasoline.
The use of electricity can help reduce many problems in the environment and for some financially. Hybrid cars are efficient, environment friendly, and can help America not rely on other countries for fossil fuels. Hybrid cars can have many benefits that make it one of the most efficient types of cars in the automotive industry.
As renewable-info states, “The basic definition of hybrid cars would be [..] mostly the combination of an internal combustion engine and one or more electric motors.
Such combination enables hybrid cars to have higher fuel efficiency (.. ) compared to traditional gas-powered cars”(Haluzan). This kind of a feature allows cars like Toyota Prius to drive at fifty one miles per gallon rate compared to an average of twenty four miles per gallon in a gasoline dependent car.
This high of a mileage can help a consumer save a lot of money since in this type of an economy gas prices do not seem to go down. According to CNN.
Money, an average family spends about 364.09 dollars per month. A hybrid car does not use the gasoline unless it runs out of electricity and when it does run out of electricity it would use gasoline. Electricity is much cheaper than gasoline, therefore if a regular person drives about 80 miles a day then a hybrid car may not even have to rely on fossil fuels and in order to refuel the battery all a person has to do is plug in the car charger into any working electric output. Hybrids can help save lots of money to the user and not only do they help the users but also the world.
Hybrid cars help save not only money but also the environment we live in. As stated by AllHybridCars, “As the automobiles is increasing, world is at the threat of toxic pollutants and global warming, due to their exhaust ingredients. The decrease in the tail pipe emission will be a great advantage for the environment as well as the society. ” The hybrid cars run on electricity therefore the CO2 emission in the air compared to a regular conventional car’s emission is way less. The minimal production of CO2 from the exhaust not only helps keep the air clean but it also helps reduce global warming.
The effect of cars on global warming is unseen but as Nitin Patel an electrical engineer on Chevy Volt states, “Global Warming can be reduced heavily if more cars ran on electricity. ” Having cars run on electricity helps reduce the air fill up with Carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is not only harmful to the environment but it is also harmful to everyone who breathes the air so we should not forget that we are not the only ones living in the world, animals are also getting affected by our use of fossil fuels. Our dependency on fossil fuel also results in making the U. S dependent on others.
America does not produce enough oil to supply every driver in America. According to Nitin Patel, “Use of hybrid cars can help America be independent and get out of bad relations with other nations”. Also according to ABC7 news one of the U. S’s biggest suppliers of oil is Iran, and recently Iran is threatening to cut out the oil supply to U. S. The result of oil cut can be seen as the gas prices are going up from where they were a few weeks ago. Iran and most of the supplier of oil are themselves having a hard time stabilizing their own countries due to various rebellions going on from the public of these countries.
If America continues its relations with countries like these then United States will be obligated to fight for the government of these countries not the people. If most of Americans starts to go green and drive hybrid cars it will help America not be dependent of Iran and other Middle Eastern countries for the oil. Although there are many benefits to owning a hybrid, a person might state that the hybrid cars are not built for performance and that the costs of hybrids are way too high. However, this does not have to be necessarily true since cars like Lexus GS are now on the market.
Lexus GS can top up to 160 miles per hour which is an exceptional speed for a hybrid car. As for the cost of hybrids cars, now cars like Honda CR-Z can be bought for a starting price of $19,545 which compared to regular cars is about the same or even less than usual. These types cars can not only be good and beneficial but can also mix the fun of driving a sports car and being environmentally friendly. Using hybrid cars can have many benefits and most of them come for not only the users but also the others and for the Earth and its beautiful nature.
In today’s economy saving money and living environmentally friendly seem to be one of the toughest things to do, this is not very difficult to achieve, one can simply switch by driving hybrid cars or buy a hybrid car next time they switch their car and you can get two benefits in one. We need to make sure our Earth is clean for the generations to come and doing so is not very hard but is only a switch away, a switch from a regular car to an environmental one.
