In 2019, There are 76 billion people around the world and increased by 1% compared with last year, according to the world better. The population has increased sharply which is a global problem with living, economic and environmental issues. Especially, Vietnam is the 15th country in the populated countries list, based on United Nations Population Division. The population in this country is growing up to 97 million and increased 1℅ compared with 2018. So what are the causes and the effects of the overpopulation in Vietnam, then what the solution for the Vietnam Government?
Overpopulation causes by growing advances in technology and lacking family planning.
Technology has been developed rapidly affects so many sites of our lives. Two of these are saving lives and creating better medical treatment. By the beginning of the 20th century, Vietnam's population had grown to a billion individuals and turned into overpopulation.
On the other hand, the birth rate was increasing that followed the traditional thoughts as the result of lacking family planning. In the past 50 years ago, almost all people lived below the poverty, did not a lot of knowledge about the harmful of population and get married very soon and produce children.
Overpopulation affects many sites of human life. In Vietnam, when there are many people live in particular place such as Saigon that consequences the unemployment, low living standard, and pollution. The first, follow trading economics number, unemployment Rate in Vietnam increased to 2.19 percent in the fourth quarter of 2018 from 2.18 percent in the third quarter of 2018. It gives rise to unemployment as there fewer jobs to support a large number of people.
That’s why the crime rate rising rapidly. Next, so many people have decided to live in Saigon so that the population in Saigon has been growing up fastly so that the living places have been narrowed down, the basic health service has been low. As the difference between demand and supply continues to expand due to overpopulation, it raises the prices of various supply including food, shelter, and healthcare. This means that people have to pay more to survive and feed their families. Besides, the air is polluted by numerous vehicles in many big cities in Vietnam. In 2016, there are much more than 45 million motorbikes in Vietnam. In these situations, both government and the citizens need to give the solution and take action together
The first solution is better education. Educating the masses helps them understand the need to have one or two children at the most. Families that are facing a hard life and choose to have four or five children should be discouraged. Family planning and efficient birth control can help women making their own reproductive choices. Educating teenagers is needed in school, especially sex education. Nowadays, the pregnancy rate from teenagers is increasing so that education in Vietnam should adjust this subject into extracurricular.
Second, to improve living standards, the government should provide some reproductive services to people, especially young people, in areas with low replacement fertility rates such as Hue, Phu Quoc, act.
The last, the government should support the public vehicles and approach the young community to extend ongoing happy bus together projects. It will be supported by the environment responsible community with a strong message. Many personal vehicles will not be driven on road at the same time, the air must be cleaner.
To summarize, there are many causes and affection from overpopulation however the government roles have educated the community about family planning and sex education in school or university while people need to follow with high responsibility.
