Small Joys, Big Memories: Cherishing Everyday Moments

I have rarely thought about the so-called memorable experiences in life. Since there are a lot of things that need to be done now and also in the future, to me, it is quite hard to write about this topic and it took me a lot of time recalling what have happened in my life, what the memorable experiences were and what the most memorable one was. Finally, I realized that a memorable experience is not only a significant event like getting a university degree, travelling abroad or having a good job.

It can also be small events in life such as the first day going to school, the first time riding bicycle or something like that. To me, the most memorable experience that I have was the time I spent with my father during my childhood. I have two elder brothers, one elder sister and one younger sister. My younger sister is only 2 years old younger than me and apparently, we spent most of the time playing together throughout our childhood.

My father usually took us to the park by the river every weekend. There we played tig, hide-and-seek, merry-go-round; shared one piece of baked banana, and so on. They were just small things, but these small things made us remember all these moments forever.

I have never really thought about my so-called memorable experience in life, I guess to me it is quite a small matter to remember the past as there are a lot of things that need to be done now and also in the future.

This essay got me thinking of all the memorable experiences everyday, even babies make memorable experiences for their parents, for example, the first time they talk or the first time they crawl.

I want to be able to make those kinds of memorable experiences even when I am 70 and olds. As you can see, I am not talking about my own memorable experience but I am talking about memorable experiences in general. A memorable experience is not only talking about huge things like travelling the world, scuba-diving with a shark or going to Egypt to see the pyramids. It can also be the small events like the first time you rode your bike or the first time you read, usually we will not remember all these small incidences as they are very common, but to me, small experiences do matter.

We feel happy every single time, sometimes the small things family and friends do make you laugh and remember them forever, so it doesn’t matter if you have this really great and huge experience if you are not even happy. What I am trying to say is it is better being happy while having the experience even though it’s small one.

Sometimes a memorable experience can be the eye-opening moment in your life where you can learn more about yourself. This is because usually people do not even know what they are capable of until they have done it.

To me, the most memorable experiences that I have are with my family and friends. Being happy is the first on my list before doing anything else. I wish the whole point of having memorable experiences are about happiness. I guess I am just lucky to have them.

Expert's Assessment
The essay reflects on the concept of memorable experiences, emphasizing the significance of both grand and seemingly trivial moments. The writer shares personal memories, particularly highlighting the joy found in simple family activities. The essay effectively conveys the idea that happiness derived from these moments surpasses the scale of the experience itself. While the narrative is relatable and well-structured, occasional redundancies slightly affect its fluidity. Overall, the piece successfully communicates the student's perspective on the essence of memorable experiences, primarily rooted in the happiness derived from them.
How can you enhance this essay?
Consider streamlining your introduction for conciseness. Instead of emphasizing the difficulty of recalling memories, jump straight into your realization about memorable experiences. Eliminate repetitive phrases like "so-called" and focus on specific instances to make your narrative more engaging. Combine or rephrase sentences to enhance flow and avoid redundancy. In the paragraph about making memorable experiences at 70, clarify your intention earlier to maintain coherence. Additionally, ensure a consistent use of verb tenses throughout the essay. Finally, reinforce the connection between happiness and memorable experiences for a stronger thematic impact.
