At the beginning of the journey to the next world, one's education and culture can either provide the greatest assistance, or else act as the greatest burden, to the person who has just died."(Goodreads, 2016).Culture is important because it is the identification of who you are and who you may become. Culture evolves, and sometimes, it evolves based on the mix of other cultures.
That is why we can find sometimes similarities between cultures. At this time, I am going to show you two different cultures, Miami and Spain, their similarities and differences, and why they could fit together.
Based in some information found in World's Encyclopedia, Miami isa city located on a broad plain between the Florida Everglades to the west and Biscayne Bay to the east, which also extends from Florida Bay north to Lake Okeechobee. The main portion of the city lies on the shores of Biscayne Bay which contains several hundred natural and artificially created barrier islands, the largest of which contains Miami Beach and South Beach(World Encyclopedia, 2016).

An article made by World Media Group, a group in charge of collecting data in United States, gives us some recent information about Miami's population. The studies shows that the population in Miami in 2010,was416,432 people. The 74.87% are white, 19.62% are black, and 70.73% are Hispanic or Latinos. In the Hispanic population, the predominant race are Cubans which compose 49.22% of the Latino's population, followed by Central Americans with compose the 23.
82%; and South America which is the 13.53%(World Media Group 2016).
The same article gives some information about what the most spoken language is. It shows that 70.26% of the population speak Spanish, making of this language the most spoken in the city. The 22.48% speak English, which heads a second place in the list of the most spoken languages in Miami; and 7.25% speak other languages.(World Media Group 2016). Many people come to United States to be free to express they belief, and Miami as a city of United States is not the exception. The website bestplaces.net gives some information about what religion people in Miami practice the most. In Miami around 40% of the people have religious practice or go to church. The 21.99% are Catholics, 5.62% are Baptists, and the rest practice another type of religion (Sperling's Best Places, 2016). As the predominant race in Miami are the Cubans, the most eaten food are the Cubans' one. Typical Cuban food are Moros y Cristianos mostly known as congris. Referring to meets, the pork heads our list. Also beef is so demanded by Cubans. Another type of food is Centro Americans ones, which includes tortas, something that replaces the rice(Wikipedia, 2016).
Located in the continent of Europe, Spain covers 498,980 square kilometers of land and 6,390 square kilometers of water, making it the 52nd largest nation in the world with a total area of 505,370 square kilometers(World Encyclopedia, 2016). The Translation Company, a group in charge of collecting data in Spain, gives uf information about races, languages, cultural beliefs in Spain. Spain has evolved as a nation with diverse ethnicities that have been living in the Iberian Peninsula since the ancient period. Modern Spain has other ethnic groups than those that existed in the Iberian Peninsula, due to the immigrants from countries in Asia, Middle East, Europe and Africa. The ethnic groups in Spain that have lived in Spain since ancient times include Aragoneses, Andalusians, Asturians, Basques, Castilians, Catalans, Cantabrians, Galicians, Gypsies, among others(The Translation Company, 2016).
In terms of number of speakers and dominance, the most prominent of the languages of Spain is Spanish or Castilian, spoken by about 99% of Spaniards as a first and second language. Basque is spoken by 2%, Catalan or Valencian by 17%, and Galician by 7% of all Spaniards. This demonstrates that even though Spanish is the predominant language, it is not the only one spoken in Spain(The Translation Company, 2016). Freedom of religion is guaranteed by the Spanish Constitution, although the majority of the population is Catholic. Other religions also practiced in Spain include Islam, Judaism, Protestantism, and Hinduism, all of which have places where to conduct their rituals(The Translation Company, 2016).
It is hard to overlook the gastronomical variety of Spain. There are many regional specialties throughout the country, but there are a number of foods that most Spaniards prepare. Some of those foods are paella, gazpacho, spanish omelet, jamon serrano, turrón. In conclusion, we just saw a brief summary about Miami and Spain's culture. Based on the information provided before, I think that both cultures could perfectly match. Both, Miami and Spain, are places visited by many tourist so both are adapted to live with people from another culture. Language will not be a problem given the fact that the most spoken language in both culture is Spanish. The religion beliefs also could fit between both cultures because Catholicism is the religion that most people practice in Miami and Spain. These are the reasons why I think that Miami culture and Spain's one could perfectly fit.
