For this assignment, 1 will be discussing a role model of mine that 1 hold in particularly high esteem. This role model is Clinton Richard Dawkins, more commonly known as Richard Dawkins, and referred to in this assignment simply as Dawkinst Dawkins is an evolutionary biologist, ethologist (ethology is a sub-topic of zoology), and a noted writer. Several of his most well-known works include The Blind Watchmaker, The God Delusion, and The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution. He is also an emeritus fellow of New College, Oxford.
He has been granted numerous awards and recognitions, including being voted the world's top thinker based on 65 names chosen by an expert panel in a poll held by Prospect magazine in 2013 (Wikipedia) In addition, he is also well known in the secular community. There are several reasons I hold Dawkins up as a great role model not only for myself but for everyone.
The first and foremost reason is Dawkins‘ commitment to reason and logic This sentiment is summed up brilliantly by Dawkins’ own words, which mirror my own lines of thought: “The enlightenment is under threat.

We have to devote a significant proportion of our time and resources to defending it from deliberate attack from organized ignorance. We even have to go out on the attack ourselves, for the sake of reason and sanity.” These and similar phrases quoted by Dawkins’ have served to inspire and direct me, especially as I‘ve worked throughout college to sharpen my reasoning skills and use them to excel at my work Although I am not a scientist per se, the study of business and finance still requires a rigorous application of logic, reason, and rationality, something that I have found Dawkins to be a beacon for.
