The Reason I Chose a Law Career

Law school is something I’ve always dreamt of since I was a child. I am always very agitated about people not getting justice. Justice is every human being’s right. I also have a soft corner for the weaker sections of the society and then being not able to get justice only because of their financial conditions was something that moved me. Once a friend of mine, who’s now a lawyer was interning at a jail while he was still in law school.

What he told me was so appalling and dreadful that it made me do something for people who are unaware of their rights. There are people in jails who are not aware of their crimes. This is a strong reason why I chose this as a career. Law touches relatively every part of our life and is always developing to stay aware of current society we live in. I need to consider law to enable individuals to conquer imbalance, and in addition building up a sound comprehension of the laws which oversee us by bridling the forces of examination, feedback, influence, critical thinking, oral and written communication.

I consider SLS to be a path for me to take in the procedures of law and to enable me to develop as a person. SLS will bring me to exposure I always needed. I’ve lived in Delhi for about three years and always wanted to get away to place that in less crowded and near to the sea.

Living in Pune will not only help me grow as lawyer but also as a person. My habit of learning new things has only multiplied when I left my hometown and started living in a big city. I constantly set new goals for myself and try to achieve them with a lot of effort. I chose this career because this will challenge me every day to push my limits and achieve what I never thought I could. I want to make people believe in justice and the not lose faith in this system. I’ve seen many people who do not have any faith in the legal system because they have terrible experience with some money hungry lawyers who keep money and status above justice. I won’t say I’m not interested in making money out of this career because it is essential for a living and to maintain a life, but not at the cost of justice.

I feel the additional responsibility that SLS will bring will place me in great stead when in the long run looking for work, perhaps in an outside nation too. I just want to say that if I get a chance to be a part of SLS, I will definitely make the most of it and not disappoint the selection board.
