Steve Jobs: Skills To Become Successful

Categories: Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs had some basic skills that allowed him to become successful and to revive apple. There were many leadership skills used by Steve Job to ensure apple is back on track. Steve Jobs was definitely top management, the reason is that he had technical skills, conceptual skills, and human skills.

First of all, he adopted the technical skills including knowledge and ability to utilize tools and processes of the company. These were his abilities in developing, designing, and creating the hardware, software, and overall product.

In 2000, he came up with a grand vision that the personal computer should become a hub for managing user content. He developed different kinds of nodes, launching personal devices. In 2010, he came up with the successor strategy, which is Apple-built cloud, a huge server to upload and sync content.

Other than that, he adopted conceptual skills to set concerns ideas and abstract thinking, thus the least tangible of the three skills. Clearly, Jobs had this skill as he was a person who was able to perceive visionary and revolutionary ideas about the way we were doing things and how things could be done better.

He clearly saw many ideas that we're oblivious to anyone else. After the success of the iPod, Jobs made more breakthroughs in operating systems, processing, and memory and then figured out how to add wireless voice to create the iPhone.

Not only that, he adopted human skills to revive apple. Human skill for him is communicating, motivating, getting people to complete the task, following directions and simply put; people skills. As for Steve's job, these were his abilities to motivate, negotiate and direct, also his inability to demonstrate kindness, and occasionally likes it when he is confrontable. When he returned to Apple as CEO, he wrote the “Think Different” ads. The last lines of the ads were self-reflecting: “While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do”. He admonished students to follow their own dreams and not to get caught up in living someone else’s life.

Other than that, Steve Jobs was successful at motivating his employees. Despite the accusations of his personality defect, he was still able to motivate his employees to create something great. Steve shared his passion with the workers, he provided vision and influenced his employees for a stronger desire of work. The employees hired by Steve Jobs would be able to endure his rants. He further motivated them to let them believe they can do something great.
