My Visit To The Restaurant

Every day between 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., you will find numerous individuals at local restaurants. The reason behind it, is that everyone is trying to get lunch. I searched for a sophisticated but very cozy restaurant. In this case, I found a local restaurant with a variety of authentic Mexican dishes. From reading the menu to having your mouth watery while the waiter puts your food down in front of you.

As I entered the restaurant. I felt welcomed by the warm colors on the wall.

The strong scent of food directed me to the table to focus on my very colorful menu. The colors were extremely vibrant. The font was fun and young. The explanation to detail was very precise. As well, had two different languages that was easy to read for anyone. Also, the menus had photos of their specialties. It was a bit doting to figure out what I wanted to order. I had to go back to my first-grade years of Eeny, Meeny, Miny, and Moe.

When I knew what I wanted to order, I put the menu down and started to look at all my surroundings. It seemed small but that's because I saw a room of different cultures enjoying the Mexican cuisine with their family members, co-workers, students or any group. There was so much happiness and laughter that it filled the room with good energy.

Few minutes passed, then my waitress came by. She had a smile on her face. She talked to me in Spanish.

She had asked, "Gustan algo de tomar?" (Would you like something to drink?). I told her "Claro que si, me gustaria una agua con limon por favor" (Of course I do, I would like a water with lemon wedges.) She said, "Okay te traigo usted su agua y tambi?n chips con salsa." (Okay, I'll bring your water and as well chips and salsa) When my server took off with my drink order. I started to wonder off and started to look around again. This time, I was focused on the painting they had on the walls. The paintings were interesting but also beautiful. They had painting of haciendas and a few portraits of Diego Riviera. Like, the most common one called "The Flower Seller".

The server came by and brought my drink and the chips and salsa and took off. Once she put it down, I automatically went to get a chip to try the salsa. It was spicy but made you want to come back for more. About 10 minutes pass, she comes back and ask if I was ready to order. I told her "yes". I ordered an appetizer and my entr?e. My appetizer was a large coctel de camaron (cocktail shrimp). Cocktail shrimp consists of onion, avocado, cucumber, tomato, shrimp, and cilantro. The cost of it is $11.99. My entr?e was tacos de barbacoa (cow cheek). The tacos de barbacoa is a plate with 3 tacos of the same kind in corn tortillas with lettuce, onions, cilantro, guacamole and served with rice and beans. The cost of the entr?e is $9.75.

I waited about 10 minutes for my appetizer. When the server brought out the cocktail shrimp it looked delicious. It was served in a large, thick wine glass. The clamato (tomato juice) was over-flowing. The server told me to put lime and Tapatio (hot sauce) on my cocktail shrimp to have a more appealing taste. Once I did that, the cocktail shrimp tasted splendid. The shrimp was great. I enjoyed it very much.

Then I waited 30 minutes for my entr?e. When the server put down the plate. The color of the plate was green. It was a medium size plate. It smelled so good. I was excited to try the food. I tried the first taco. When I took a bite of the taco it was delicious. The issue was there was lots of grease in the food. I took the first bite and there was grease already coming out. It was totally different than what I expected. The flavor was good. I couldn't taste the grease, but I could see it. The rice was good. It was the way I enjoy it. Not too wet nor to dry. The beans were great. The beans were smashed and had American cheese. The salsa and guacamole on the tacos gave it a nice flavor.

Overall experience, the food was good. I was caught by surprise with the grease inside the tacos. The cocktail shrimp was fantastic. The service was great. I got in with an empty stomach but left the restaurant ready for a nap. I was completely satisfied. I recommend this restaurant for people that enjoy Mexican cuisine food.
