Having 8 films already under its belt, this popular franchise shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. With three more movies in the works, it cannot be denied just how this series has taught and greatly influenced the world. Going beyond showing the world of illegal street racing, executing strategically planned heists, espionage and flashy cars, this series demonstrates that it has heart and it is definitely here to stay.
From the very beginning, the films established just how important family is.
More often than not, Dominic Toretto, played by the hunky Vin Diesel, emphasized the need to always protect each other and keep each other from harm. They always had each other’s back, especially in carrying out their heists and when tackling enemies on the streets. Perhaps the best lesson is that family is everything. As a matter of fact, this series highlights the significance of friends that turned into family and those that are truly connected by blood.
Despite going through a difficult phase in life, know that your folks and your small circle will always be there to help pick you up. The latest film paid homage to the well-loved Paul Walker. Playing Brian O’Conner, Walker died a tragic death after crashing at over 100 miles per hour. Furious 7 dedicated an emotional song in his memory, titled See You Again.
As well-known criminals, many of the film’s characters shied away from collaborating with the authorities. However, when they were given the opportunity to clear their names and start anew, everyone pitched in and did a seamless job of bringing down the real villains.
Amidst the flamboyant cars, the series sheds light on the skills of the driver. More than its features, it is the driver who will eventually bring success on his own, especially with his knowledge and dexterity whilst on the road. Even in the face of challenges, Fast and the Furious focuses on the need to always drive safe and smart. Doing so gives you an edge against other competitors on the road whose only goal is to outrank and shame you.
According to a study conducted by The New York Times, research suggests that watching these films encourage more drivers to speed up, particularly near theatres. Not only is this quite dangerous, but this is also very expensive, especially when it involves paying fines. Whilst many individuals may be tempted to channel these racing stunts in real life, this might not exactly be plausible. Aside from having traffic management rules and regulations in place, these can also endanger others who are in the vicinity. Always remember to drive not only with your safety in mind but also of those who are with you. Let those deadly car crashes in the scenes serve as a warning. Despite having a lot of loopholes, this series brings to mind serious life lessons that everyone can use. Whilst action-packed movies and racing might not be everyone’s cup of tea, watching and giving these films a try might change your worldview.
