In the current times that are occurred, students are faced with many challenges that occur in their daily lives like the submissions of projects to their studying for exams. This section contains viable knowledge pulled from different sources in order to create a general knowledge for them to learn.

Stress

According to Hans Selye (1976) which is further implemented by George Fink (2010) that stress is a “non-specific respond to threats” which is further explain through the use of the stimulus he named “stressors” which release upon the discomfort feeling on the emotional level which further affected the physical one which is proven true through the research of Pacak and Palkovits (2001) where they test out the different stressors and how are they trigger.

It is also stated by Eugene Yates which again further implemented by Fink that it can be defined using the knowledge of neurology that it is a stimulus in which release both ACTH and adrenal glucocorticoids and as stated by Kim and Diamond (2002) which is again further defined by Fink that it can also be define in three- parts which must have a intensify arousal, the mindset that must be aloof, and last it must be uncontrollable when it is felt.

But it dosen’t mean that it is bad as stated by Fraken(1994) which is further viewed by Habibah, Wong, and Maria (2011) that stress could be a useful tool to make ourselves adapt to whatever challenges that we will face

It is also stated in the K to 12 Deped Primer (2011) That K-12 is a program in which start out in kindergarten to junior high with the increase of 2 years which is the Senior High school.

According to a research that is conducted by Lourd Greggory D. Crisol and John Brian L. Alamillo (2014) where they ask the teachers and students of Karaos Elementary School and Rufino Santos Sr. Elementary on their perspective of the K-12 program a year after the implication of the said program to the respective school. The results of their research on how prepared they are for the K-12 curriculum is that on the Kes 100% of them says that their not prepare for the K-12 curriculum while the RSSE has only 10% of them saying that they are prepare while the remaining 90% says no which if think about in the perspective of the students makes them more scared about the 2-year increase in their educations.

Academic Stress

According to Fairbrother and Warn (2003) which is further stated by Purna Prabhakar Nandamuri and Gowthami Ch (2011) identifies academic stress as the stressors which are related in academics like for examples the poor relationship with its other students, too many assignment, failures, and etc. Like for examples the social Familiarty where it is difficult to find and/or maintain it (Hartshorn, 1976).

According to Abouserie (1994) which is further explained by Purna and Gowthami that the academic stress occurs at most on the times where students studies for the exams, grade competition, and learning a large amount of knowledge in a short period of time and the most common people who are vulnerable and experience high levels of academic stress is the first-year university students (Towbes & Cohen, 1996; Pancer et al., 2000; Wintre & Yaffe, 2000) which is express in another manner by Habibah, Wong, and Maria (2011).The reason that this could happened according to the research conducted by Dwyer & Cummings( 2001) which further illustrate by Habibah, Wong, and Maria (2011) is the inability to adapt to the sudden changes to his/her life. According to Goodman (1994) which is further stated by Purna and Gowthami (2011) that the stressors can be categorize as financial, time or health related, academic and self-imposed. Based on the research conducted by Hatcher and Prus (1991) which is further stated by Purna and Gowthami where they factor it out the ways to the decrease a student’s academic performance in which one of the factors is the academic stress

Based on the research by Murphy & Archer (1996) which further is explained by Purna and Gowthami (2011) if the academic stress keeps on going it may cause the students some physical and psychological aliment and the things that a student can do to reduce the stress that they are feeling are to manage their time, active in leisure activities, and etc but only the research conducted by Ragheb and McKinney (1993) who made the negative connection between the two.

Synthesis

Based on the literature that has been reviewed, it is evident that stress is a emotional respond to a sudden change in the surrounding environment which in turn affects a student physical and metal capabilities. It may seem evident that once a student reaches that college/ university period of study and the fact that the K-12 curriculum has been passed on that they will experience the great amount of stress but as long as they adapt to the new things that happened in the surroundings then it will feel great
