The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a milestone document that outlines the basic human rights that should be protected and upheld for all individuals. It was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948 and is regarded as a cornerstone of international human rights law. The declaration sets out 30 fundamental rights and freedoms that should be enjoyed by everyone, including the right to life, liberty, and security, freedom of thought and expression, the right to education, work and healthcare, and protection from discrimination and torture. The aim of the declaration is to promote and ensure the dignity and worth of every person, and to create a world where human rights are respected and upheld by all.
