International entertainers, including sports personalities, often get paid millions of dollars in one year. In your view, with widespread poverty in the world, are these huge earnings justified? Some people argue that salaries of many celebrities and sport personalities have increased tremendously in recent years and, considering the widespread poverty around the world, their huge earnings are not justified. Personally, I believe that their money is earned fairly, with their own efforts. However, there are cases when the wage is extremely high, far exceeding the normal limits.

One important factor which should be taken into account when determining somebody’s earning is the risk the job implies. There are many sports in which people are exposed to high risks. For example, Rally racing or Skiing are very well-paid sports but pretty dangerous ones at the same time and in some lamentable situations can be even fatal for those who practice them. And how can we decide whether the price of their lives is justified or not?! At the same time, being famous and earning lots of money also means (to give up) giving up many important things of your life.

Many actors and singers are so busy always moving from one place to another that they don’t even manage to create a family. Others, like newsreaders or weather presenters from TV and radio, need to wake up at 5. 00 AM every morning. All these are pretty big sacrifices people make and it’s understandable why they are paid so well. On the other hand, all these sacrifices mean nothing compared to the suffering and hunger of poor people who can’t (fulfill) meet their basic living needs.

It’s becoming really sad if we think of the fact that with an annual earning of a single golf player, which can reach 100 million dollars, about 10. 00 people from Africa can live an entire year. I(’m not sure) doubt if there is anyone who can justify such a striking difference between people’s standards of living. By and large, before condemning people for overpaid jobs we should think twice about all the risks they are exposed to and the compromises they have to make. However, some people earn exaggerated amounts of money and, compared to the widespread poverty from the world, it raises questions about the worthiness of these gains.
