Today I will be informing you guys about the digestive system and its disorders. So, the digestive system is made up of the following:
Some digestive diseases and conditions are acute, lasting only a short time, while others are chronic, or long-lasting. Our digestive system is very important to our body. Our health and wellness is dependant on this very system as much as it is on the others.
If you are to get a digestive disorder it puts your health at stake as one big part of your body is not correctly functioning and has a problem of any sort. Which is preventing it from performing its primary function.
It causes loss of the mucous layer in our stomach. Which makes it easier for stomach acids to damage the stomach walls and our stomach muscles, like the rugae.
Which in bad cases can sometimes lead to a ruptured appendix or a pocket of pus forming in the abdomen.
Diarrhea is the virus/bacterial infection when the colon fails to absorb all the water. This results in watery stool and dehydration due to the lack of water not being absorbed

The treatment is simply just to drink as many fluids as possible and eat nutritious food.
Alright, so as you all know a few months ago I believe we had an E Coli outbreak in our very own romaine lettuce. Global News Canada had released an article in which they explained more on the topic and how to recognize the symptoms.
For any of you that may not know, E Coli is a bacterium that infects and invades your intestines, which are part of out digestive system. It is associated with food poisoning, but you can also get pneumonia and urinary tract infections from different types of the bacteria.
Symptoms of E. coli infection include nausea, vomiting, headache, fever, severe stomach cramps and watery or bloody stool.
Most people will recover in a few days, but some may develop life-threatening illnesses that can cause death.
So according to this article, only a few people were affected and have gotten better. Furthermore, an article published just recently claims that the lettuce is now E Coli free and ready to eat. But we still must be cautious as bacteria is not also fully gone.
In brief, the digestive system is a very sensitive and important system of our body. So, we must do all that we can to protect it, so it performs its primary functions for our bodies. Therefore, stay healthy and avoid getting such problems.
