Identity Thief and the movie Wreck it Ralph might seem like two completely different movies they do share some similarities, and portray the same theme.
From one being a cartoon animation (Wreck it Ralph) to the other using real actors (Identity Thief) they share the same idea, "that friendship can come from the most unexpected person". In Identity Thief the lead role becomes best friends with the one who stole his identity. He first starts by hating her, and just wanting her to admit to her crimes, but then grows a bond with her and doesn't want her to go to jail.
In Wreck It Ralph it portrays these messages by Ralph and the little girl becoming friends. They first weren't meant to have even met, more or less be the reason for each other’s success. In both of these films, the main character needed this friendship to accomplish their main goal in the movie. Without the little girl, Ralph wouldn't have been able to get his gold coin, and the man in Identity Thief wouldn't have been able to continue his career.
Both sharing the importance of friendship from the least expected.
Wreck It Ralph is a movie that was made by Disney that has a mood of sadness and pity. It reveals to viewers the side of the villain in a movie, and how he lives after he gets thrown off the building. I think that it has a great importance to its time due to the fact that many viewers of the movie are young kids, and teaching them the other side of things is important, as learning about the thief’s life in Identity Thief the man shows pity for the girl and at the end doesn't want to turn her in.
Ralph is a bad guy in the game but not a bad guy in life, and teaching kids the importance of pity on others is getting more and more needed to this day, as our society is growing cold and heartless. Teaching them that you can't just judge people based upon what they are labeled as, but more for whom they are, and getting to know them. Like in Identity Thief he doesn't enjoy the girl's company but after getting over the fact that she's a thief he began to find a love for her and this creates a friendship between the two.
Identity Thief is a movie much needed for its time, giving awareness to identity theft everywhere and that it really can happen to anyone. It has a mood of comedy and sadness. Seeing how insecure she is about herself because of the tough life she lives gives a reflection of how Ralph feels in Wrecket Ralph. She is a bad guy in the story of the main character but not a bad person at heart. She has many similarities to Ralph as she is labeled as bad and is treated poorly due to this label on her back. She is later loved by everyone as so is Ralph once they get to know her. The two characters are both reckless and have a good sense of humor.
In both stories sharing many contrasts with the characters, this is just some things the two overlap. Not only just the difference in animation and actual characters the two movies are very different. Having different stories with different adventures, the characters in both stories accomplish very different goals. As in Identity Thief, the main focus was for Sandy (the main character) to be able to keep his job, and in Wreck It Ralph the goal is to beat the game. Neither movie sharing the same characters or background stories. They differ in many ways due to the fact that they are different movies created by different people for different reasons. Both movies being equally good in my opinion they contrast and differ in many ways. They are totally different but almost the same.
