Nike, is an American sportwear company headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon. It was founded in 1964 as Blue Ribbon Sports by Bill Bowerman, a track-and-field coach at the University of Oregon , and his former student Phil knight( The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica). After watching the videos, I believe that Nike is a good corporate citizen because of its efforts to sustain the planet , this is because Nike have come to realization that the buyer or customers are becoming more and more environmentally conscious and starting to oppose questions to the retailers who do not have any form of sustainable practice into place.

The company, in 2002, partnered themselves with National Recycling Coalition and from there the two would make drop off stations in countries such as Europe and Australia where they would collect old Nike shoes from retail stores and drop them off in other countries. Since this began back in the 1995, the company has collected 25 million pairs of shoes that have now been recycled and not left in landfills. Progress begins when all things are considered, the product and the environment, Nike is definitely taking steps to reduce their carbon footprint.
