The reasons of abortion are quite obvious such as population control, medical reasons as someone life being at risked and social reasons such as the pregnancy may be unwanted resulted from accidental circumstances. A Christian worldview would be showing integrity and respect to God’s creation and be thankful to the gifts that God has endowed us.

Abortion can be done for the sake of the population control in different societies. It can be entitled as perfect family planning as more people in family require more resources.

The main cause is poverty – low income, unstable family structure for having more children and lack of the basic amenities to the family due to increasing newborn babies in the family. The other reasons may be that there is lack of medical and educational facilities and malnutrition.

If we lose control on it then it will lead to rapid population growth and finally to the problem of over population. Its main consequences will result in increased unemployment and more consumption of natural resources which are limited.

  2. Other possible reason could be the life of mother being risked that is the life of mother cannot be saved if the baby is born.
  3. Furthermore, the baby being born with certain physical or mental disabilities which cannot be cured completely.
  4. In addition to this, it could be that the mother may be diagnosed with some serious disease during pregnancy that can pass on to the child.

The Christian response is that the conception itself is the beginning of new life and it is completely similar to a person so no one as right to kill it as it would be regarded as a murder.

The social reasons also are responsible for aborting a child and even there are more cases of child being aborted due to these reasons:

  1. It could be the case of child abuse or rape in which there is no alternative left rather than abortion.
  2. It could be possible that the couple is not well-prepared to have a child as they are more career focused.
  3. The pregnancy might result at wrong phase of life from pre-marital sex so the ultimate option would be abortion.
  4. The biblical perspective is that
  5. The unborn has also its own rights which are violated by being aborted.
  6. Also, it considered a sin and the result of it would be facing a lot of curses by Jesus halting our way to the heaven.

Conclusion

In conclusion the reasons for carrying out abortions may vary according to the problems faced by the people. Additionally, the legalization of abortion accompanied its own contentions, and it has even been named a social issue in the United States and the world over. In any case, it is basic to take note of that abortion or no abortion, people need to investigate the issues confronting the general public today and settle on a mindful decision. However, the Christian response is to show respect God’s creation, protect rights, accept the decisions made by God and finally making our journey to the heaven through compiling our thoughts and actions.
