Venom tracks investigative journalist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy), who loves a pleasant San Francisco life, stays with his fiancé Anne Weying , hosts a news network show of his own, and is typically content. Eddie, though, betrays his fiancé 's trust and violates specific orders from his manager during an interview to go after the brilliant, Foundation chief Carlton Drake. Eddie is sacked from his show and effectively blacklisted from participating in the media as a result, and Anne breaks up with him.
Eddie is already down and out months later, struggling to pursue a career or lead a rewarding existence-that is, before he is confronted by scientist Dr. Dora Skirt of the Existence Base. Drake had been playing with foreign beings that he called symbiotes, all while Eddie 's life had been slipping downhill. In order to live on the surface, the symbiotes must bind with an Earthen host, and Drake implies combining symbiotes with humans as a way of living in space-but more often than not, the symbiotes destroy the human hosts.

One of the symbiotes called Venom associates with Eddie and the two help to hold each other safe as Dr. Skirth sneaks Eddie into the Life Base. But, when Venom tells Eddie of another symbiote 's plan Riot, who is bonding with Drake that threatens the planet, Venom and Eddie must put their disagreements aside and work together to take down Riot.
Venom has strong ambitions of becoming a buddy system set inside a superhero world, and the most promising feature of the film is the friendship between Eddie and Venom for the most part.
The screenplay-written from a story by Pinker and Rosenberg by Jeff Pinkner, Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel-works to draw out the relationship between Eddie and Venom, but it also trades real production for a cheap joke (jokes that get a chuckle, admittedly). In its portion, the Venom script accepts the comic book character's crazy mindset and leans into the weirdness sufficiently to actually have some fun (although some fans will like even more weirdness). Even so, when it comes to the plot, Venom has quite a few issues-some of the dialogue varies from clunky to laughably awful. It all contributes to Venom 's appeal somehow, however. Where the movie is most puzzled, perhaps, is between Hardy and Ahmed 's performances. There is a contrast between Eddie and Drake-one is a journalist of the people, while the other is a sneaky businessman and scientist of smooth-talking. It made it seem as if Hardy and Ahmed are in two separate films. While Hardy leans into the strangeness during the movie, Ahmed offers a genuinely sincere presence-and the earnestness does him no good as he speaks lines that are supposed to be severe and come out more ridiculously foolish. Ahmed's Assistant was forgettable, since her role wasn’t well established by any way. That's to be anticipated in a superhero movie that relies more on the creation of its main man-and that includes Venom in this case.
The version of Venom by director Ruben Fleischer profits from the script being based on the plot, rather than the plot being introduced in another movie. This Poison would not step into the R-rated brutality that some viewers might have wished for, but in Fleischer 's film there is action to be taken. Unfortunately, it had boring moments in the different action scenes in which Fleischer plays with seeing the abilities of Venom, especially when Venom and Eddie first bond, several of the sequences are too long in my opinion and should have been cut down. As the film was also charged with developing the partnership between the symbiote and Eddie, which is undeniably crucial to a Venom movie's success, it could not have hurt to further concentrate on the growth of their partnership. The times where Eddie Hardy deals with Venom-and then responds to the environment around them-are special and amusing enough that even without the action set pieces, they have made an enjoyable movie.
