It cannot be completely cured but there are some things you can do to treat some of the affects. You can be diagnosed by this if you go to a doctor.

The doctor will ask about your family history to see if they have had it, take pictures of your bones, take a bone scan, an MRI, CT scan, and take a urine sample. If the case is difficult to diagnose it is a extreme case you might go to more than one doctor. It is more common for men over the age of 40 to get Paget’s Disease than women over the age of 40.

But you can get physical help like canes, wedges, and physical therapy. You can get prescriptions for bone loss and pain. You can also get surgery to fix, replace, or treat severe arthritis.

If your family members have had a history with Paget’s Disease, once you are over the age of 40, it is a good idea to go to the doctor and get checked for it every 2-3 years. Paget’s Disease can be a very painful disease if you don’t find it in time, or you just ignore it.
