Michael Jordan once said “I’ve failed over and over and over again and that’s why I succeeded.” If you don’t even try in life you will never be successful. When you want to be successful as bad as you want to breathe then you be successful. Success is about developing personal wisdom and competence or what could be called personal mastery in the field you want to succeed in. Nothing is ever impossible to accomplish in life. You have to be determined that you can do the impossible.
If you have determination you can overcome the adversities in life. Therefore, Even the well-known people goes through different obstacles and hardships in their life.
Bill Gates went through some struggles in his life too. He dropped out of Harvard University and tried to run a successful business from ground up. He tried over and over again until the third time he was successful. Its goes back to Michael Jordan quote, Gates fail but it didn’t stop him from trying and that’s why he succeeded.
He was determined to make a successful company and he didn’t let anybody stop him. Now Bill Gates is the wealthiest man in the United States of America. However, another man that struggle and overcame adversity was Bill Cosby. Bill Cosby had a SAT score of a 500 and you get a 400 just for writing you name on the standardize test. Mr. Cosby an educator and beloved sitcom actor, but at least initially, Cosby didn’t seem to care much about his own education.
He dropped out of high school after failing the tenth grade, later earning a GED so that he would be able to study physical education at Temple University, and eventually went on to earn a doctorate in education from the University of Massachusetts.
It would seem that Cosby is living proof that you can succeed beyond the limits of your SAT score. The odds was against him because him dropping out and not scoring well on a standardize test that can help you get in college. He didn’t let that get to him he strived for success and he got his what he want and became a well-known person and a millionaire. Above and beyond, Michael Jordan had some hardships as a young boy. Michael Jordan played baseball, basketball and football. His preferred sport at the time was baseball but after he began spending a lot of time on the basketball court, his outlook changed. Because his older and taller brother, Larry, continuously kept beating him when they played one-on-one, he was determined to become a better player. Ironically, in 1978, when Jordan attended Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina, he was cut from the varsity team...
Between the 10th and 11th grade, Jordan grew from 5'11" to 6'3", and because he had improved greatly as a player, he made the varsity team the following year. Jordan played so well in his junior season that he was invited to attend the Five-Star Camp in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, during the summer before his senior year. By the time Jordan was finishing his senior year at Laney; he had grown to 6'5" and attained a basketball scholarship from the University of North Carolina. Jordan's ever-growing popularity began at UNC where he made a last minute game-winning shot in the NCAA championship game. In the summer of 1984, Jordan played on the US Men's Olympic Basketball Team under head coach Bobby Knight. Jordan immediately proved that he belonged in the big leagues and his acrobatic moves and hang-time won him the infamous nickname Air Jordan. His basketball skills and allure made him the perfect key figure to market both Nike products and the NBA.
Jordan led the Bulls to three consecutive NBA Championships (1991, 1992 and 1993). Jordan retired from the NBA preceding the 1993/94 season after the mysterious death of his father and after rumors about his gambling addictions began to circulate. If Michael Jordan would have quit trying after been cut from the varsity squad his sophomore year we wouldn’t have a legend in the National Basketball Association like him. We might not have had in the Hall of Fame if he didn’t get cut from the varsity squad. HE worked harder than ever after been cut and he made him the man he is today. He was determined to overcome adversity and do the impossible which was go pro in basketball. Statistic shows only 1.7% of boys in high school even go pro that’s a slim percent of athletes. In Conclusion, determined can get you far in life. No matter what life throw at you, you have to have a positive attitude and work hard and overcome the situation that has called your name. Michael Jordan said “I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying.” If you never try then you can never be successful because you want have any result. You have to be determined to try and do you best every time you try.
