Speech on Changing Times Essay
Speech on Changing Times
With changing times people have adapted themselves to the changing trends and given off old traditions. Instead of reacting to the sudden cultural shocks, they have embraced foreign culture with poise. Freedom has taken forefront. Rituals have acquired backseat. Rules are supposed to be broken and exceptions are present for every single rule. Break-free is the idea. “Live life, King size” is the motto.
Relationship is out-of-date whereas companionship is in fashion. Infidelity is the mood of the times. Live and let live is the flavor of the season. Morality is extinct. Liberty is in. Plagiarism is in vogue and Mannerism is out. Every other person is alike in habits. Therefore, nobody cares to complain. No morality, no fear of sins. Cutting each other’s throats for fiscal markets, bull trading, bear fighting, nerve wrecking all is in. Pick pocketing, rag picking were all age-old things. Chain pulling, stealing bikes are new common sports of the dusk. Making money is important. Not how it is done!
It is all the transcendence of human race that people today reach the height of maximum luxury upgrading from the days of their very ancient Stone and Cave age. What human being has achieved today was once only a dream out of reach
Today at the starting days of the 21st century, Technology is the most pronouncing name all over the world. We are at the age of computer. Computer now no longer remains only a laboratory kit. Its application ventures into industrial setups, health care facilities, educational institutions, banking systems, ticket booking counters, carrying out business proceedings, governmental jobs in fact in all aspects. Greater accuracy, more memory capacity and time saving ability of computer make people more and more interested towards its application.
Individualism, another consequence of our modern actions, saps the virtues of public life; but in the long run it attacks and destroys all others and is at length absorbed in downright selfishness. With the growing number of nuclear families, the traditional hierarchy within the family members has broken down. Elders feel like intruders in the home of their own children. Sadly in one way, these are the consequences of the generation gap growing between the parents and the children.
The old and the new generation need to cope up with each other and to respect others’ thoughts. The older generation should try to get more advanced and the youth must assist them in this difficult task. This is truly the easiest and the only way to maintain our relations with all parts of the society amidst the rule of changing time.
