Professional Career Action Plan

My professional goal is to work behind a desk and computer. I have had serveral different ventures on trying to come up with my professional goal but I see myself being extremely good with computer and importing information into a database. This being said, I can see myself being an administrative assistant and or in the coding and billing field. I have that energy to strive in both professional goals and build with a company as they grow. Both professional fields will consist of me working wtih computers.

Either importing (filing) patient information, communicating via computer with other medical personnel, and of course verbally communicating with all parties involved in the case.

My professional goals come from me always working with computers. I first thought I would be a computer technician but decided to take my career on a different path because the health care industry will be around for eternity. Both, administrative assistant and coding and billing departments will recommend me to further my education.

In either direction that I plan to go I will need more schooling so that my professionals goals are met.

My first career goal is to become an Administrative Assistant. An administrative assistant has many of the same duties as a secretary, including typing, filing, answering phones and taking notes at meetings (WiseGEEK, 2014). These are all the things that I enjoy doing and can see myself fitting well in this position. Being a medical adminstrative assistant also includes duties such as managing the day to day operations of a medical facility so that the facility is ran smoothly, verifying patient insurance so that they are billed correctly, providing quality customer service to all patients, and also working in a professional enviornment.

My second career goal if all fails with my first goal is to find a position in medical coding and billing.

As a medical coding and billing professional, you will review patient medical records and assign codes to diagnoses and procedures performed so the facility can bill insurance and other third party payers (such as Medicare or Medicaid) as well as the patient (Career Step, 2014). To fulffill this career goal I will have to go back to school and obtain at least a certificate in this area. I will need to better understanding the different codings so that I can proper work in this area.

In both administrative assistant and medical coding and billing field in the health care industry I currently possess the ability to work with all types of computer software. I am a fast learner when it comes to computers and filing. I have the ability to understand computer software with reporting and emailing, I am a self starter, committed to self study to further professional developments, I have excellent troubleshooting skill, I enjoy seeing projects through from inception to completion, I am upbeat and friendly, I can easily adapt to new enviornments and changing priorities, I have excellent memory and attention to detail, I have also worked in a strong professional background.

Softwares that I have the ability to manage with no assistance are: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, and Microsoft Excel. I am very comfortable using these softwares and I have tons of experience doing so. I am extremely confident with the softwares that I have the ability to use and I am willing to learn other software programs if they will benefit me in my career path. Note taking is another skill. In my current employment I am writing all day. I have to notate my daily task with patients when they are under my care. In an administrative assistant position I will be taking notes when needed to better

Communication is a skill that would definitely need to change in either one of my career goals. Communicating with patients, physicians, nurses, and also insurance companies is a strong skill that need to be possessed in both fields. I am not a big communicator but I have the ability to speak when needed. I would like to change this skill because it can get me further on my journey to reach my career goals.

A skill of mine that could be altered would be my computer skills. Even though I am fluent with computer technology there may be a way that I am processing information that is not actually the correct way or the shortess way of doing so. I am proficient in many computer software program but I am sure that I could be taught and grasp information different seeing though that I have no professional experience working with computers in a big indusrty.

Another skill that can be altered is my ability to work in groups if needed. I am a self starter and prefer to work alone on projects but I am more than capable of working with others on big projects. I am opinionated especially when it comes to a group project where my job may be on the line. All in all there are many skills that could be changed and or altered depending on the professional career direction that I consider to go in.

To ultimately achieve my professionals goals it will take up to at least two years. I will be completing my bachelors degree in the next two months but will have to return back to school to obtain another degree and or just a certificate. Even after obtain all my degrees and certificates I would like to do an internship so that I can have that professional feel, seeing that I have no experience in either position. I would most likely physicially go into a school for further education with coding and billing. This is because I think I would be able to grasp the information a little better knowing there will be many codes for different areas of concern.

I have someone that I am very close to in the coding and billing field so it is very possible that I can speak with them further about their experience. This may also determine if I want to go in that direction. During this time I will consider in which direction I want to go whether it is an administrative assistant and or in the coding and fielding field. Either way I see it taking some time so that I can fully understand and grasp the knowledge of both fields. Volunteering would be another way that would be beneficial to ultimately achieving my long term professional goals. In order to do this I will need to verbally communicate and do major research on organization in my area that would accomidate my needs to help me grow.

In my area, there are many professional organization that can help to achieve my professional goals. Even with my current employer, although I work as a caregiver, they would give me the opportunity to work within the office doing volunteer work and or even helping me with questions that I may have about my career goal. I could also do some research for hospitals in my area that offer internships so that I could get that feel of exactly what it is that I will be doing. There are health care organization such as hospitals, clinics within the hospital, and clinics within the city along with multiple dental clinics. Having all these health care organizations around would help to benefit me.

My career action plan outline provides beneficial reasoning to which direction I will probably head into. Being able to see the outcome of each career goal and what they offer will help me in the next few month determine which career path I will take. The outline defined each awareness that I may have while analyzing the job descriptions for each career.

At the end of my bachelors program I will have some better insight in which direction I want to go in so that I can enroll in a traditional school for further education. While obtaining my degree and or certificate I will start researhing organization that will allow me to intership. Once I have fully obtained what is need, with the intership I will hopefully have landed a position either with the same organization or with another organization close by.

Essay About Me, Planning and Career

Born and name Nur Shahiera Binti Nor Adnan , I am the only daughter of Nor Adnan bin Mohd Nor and Azar binti Kamaluddin. I was born on 2nd May 1995 in Pahang. I am the eldest sister and also the only girl among six siblings. I stayed with family in Kuantan, is the state capital of Pahang. My father a business man and my mother a clerk in the department of works at Kuantan. I am from a humble. I was receiving early education at Tabika Kemas Kampung Cherok Paloh when at the age of 3 years up to 5 years old. After that, my parents transferred at Pra Sekolah Kebangsaan Cherok Paloh which does away with my home. I started my primary education at Sekolah Kebangsaan Cherok Paloh, is the school is located far from the city from 7 years old until 12 years old. During the year 2007, I took the UPSR examination and I passed with flying colours to score 3A 2B’s. I furthered my lower secondary education at SMK Sungai Soi, Kuantan and in the year 2008.

This school made me independent and adaptable when I was given the responsibilities to become school prefect. When I was form one, I’ve been listed as one of the best student after I got 8A’s in first exam. The excellent results did not last to form 3 when my PMR results is so bad and I’ve 1A 6B with 1C. When I was in Form 4 and I was so active in co-curricular activities. I have represented the school in netball competition up to the district town. Besides, I also represent the school in competitions Quran recitation ceremony and won third place. I was also able to beat the students of Al Ihsan School of Religion. I’m so excited and happy with some successful. when I was being increased 5 I moved to SMK Ubai because the instruction out due to the results of the examination at the end of Form 4 so badly. I took my SPM examination in the year 2012 and as the result, I got 2A1B3C2E1G. I tried to mantain in some subjects but I failed.

I failed checkers additional mathematics and simply pass in chemistry and physics. I highly regret this decision and make my parents disappointed. I as eldest daughter should show good results for my brothers. After school I was asked to participate in the group's first Pusat Latihan Khidmat Negara at Kem Cahaya Gemilang Cherating, Kuantan. in PLKN I can learn to be a responsible citizen of the country. There also I was able to learn and recognize yourself in more detail. Besides that I also get to know the attitudes of students can excel in further education and to train yourself to be able to work in management. I received offers from many colleges, but I'm only interested in a field which is at Poly-Tech Mara College of accounts field but my parents do not agree in their field so I suggest that in the field of human resource management. I finally received and have been filling out forms. I love my subjects of Geography Form 1 yet, so I'm trying to find a field that is quite similar to the subjects.

I'm interested to know the human population and the environment. So I chose Human Resource Management at Kolej Poly-Tech Mara in Kuantan. The Diploma in Human Capital Management focuses on core competencies, which integrates organization development and human resource content with an emphasis on strategic human capital and development. The programme offers combination of theory and practice which enables students to evaluate the ideas and relate them to the activities that take place in organizations. The programme also will equip students with the necessary skills to enter the market in the area of commerce, banking and manufacturing. I hope I can be a minister of human resources later like Dato Dr. S. Subramaniam.

I plan to develop a workforce that is productive, informative, disciplined, caring and responsive to changing labor environment towards enhancing economic growth and increasing employment opportunities. in addition to developing a skilled workforce, knowledgeable and competitive in a harmonious industrial relations environment and social justice. Based on my recommendation, I must study more diligently in this area so that I can achieve my ambitions as an officer of the ministry of human resources. Managing international relations in the field of labor administration, technical cooperation in matters of labor and human resource development is one of the tasks and responsibilities of the ministry of human resources. I hope none of this corruption in the management. I wish and set a high hope that one day I will be able to be a minister of human resources.

This is all about me, my education and career planning if I took human resource management as my primary choice to further my study. Despite of deep interest in this field, human resource management also serve a lot of golden opportunity in Malaysia, especially in the future. This job is not only about making money, but also mainly about how to improve my race level in this modernity lives. As this field is less monopolized by the Malay bumiputras, I think I’ve had the responsibility to help my own people. I will surely do anything to achieve my goals. Moreover, dentistry will be one of rewarding career and surely people will start to look for a chance to get to know more about it.

My Career Path

She was a young high school graduate with a four month old daughter who had no financial or emotional support from the baby’s father, depending on her parents to support both her and the baby feeling hopeless, thinking that life was going down the drain for her. Every day she would look into her beautiful daughter’s eyes and cry because she knew that her daughter deserves the best, and that is what she couldn’t give her. She searched deep within herself and found the courage and motivation to achieve greatness. She knew she had to further her education to pursue her longtime dream; which was to become a secondary educator.

Not only did she realize that she wanted to attend college but she had to work to take care of her baby and help with her tuition. She filled out an application for school and typed up multiple resumes. After six months of feeling hopeless, in January 2010 she was enrolled at the college of the Bahamas and got a job as a dental assistant. Taking her baby to school in the mornings, headed to work, and schooling at night became her daily schedule. After a year of working and schooling, it was then that she realized that she no longer wanted to become a teacher, but she had grown a passion for dentistry.

Working in a people oriented atmosphere and having a flexible schedule made her feel complete. This young lady is me and this is why I want to become a certified dental hygienist. Dental hygienists work in a people oriented atmosphere. The priority for most dental offices is to make the patients feel as relaxed as possible while teaching them how to properly care for their teeth and gums. My personality best fits the job demands; I have great communication skills, love helping others and making them feel relax.

Many people have a phobia for dental office; I have witnessed both children and adults who are afraid of dentist. For example, we had a patient who came for dental treatment on three different days was seated every time and the tray was set up for her to have an extraction. She was so afraid that even though she was in excruciating pain she would not follow through with her procedure. I had to calm her down and explain to her that the situation will only get worse, not better, and this is for her well-being, that it will be best to get the tooth out before it develops more damage to her mouth.

After she was finished she hugged and thanked me for being so patient and caring in assisting with her and making her feel at home. Working at the front desk and sometimes dealing with disgruntled people, I have to remain calm and answer them in a professional manner; this is the norm for me because I have good communication skills. In addition, dental offices should always be clean and sanitized for the safety of the workers and patients. They must adhere to strict compliance of proper radiological procedures and the appropriate use of protective devices when running anesthetic gas.

To protect themselves and patients from infectious diseases, dental hygienists wear gloves, surgical masks and safety glasses. Because dental hygienists must sit while working on patients, they have to be careful to avoid possible neck and shoulder injuries to themselves. Notice in dental offices there are hand sanitizer pumps on the walls, in the bathrooms and in the examination rooms to help decrease the level of infections. All metal instruments are to be sterilized after every use and deposable products are thrown away.

A dental office is where patients come when they are seeking oral health assistance. Dental hygienists teach patients how to practice good oral hygiene, remove hard and soft deposits from teeth as well as providing additional preventative dental care. They record the presence of disease or abnormalities after examining patient’s teeth and gums. This is my most favorite part of the job, taking dental pictures using x-ray machines, developing the film, reading the film and explaining to the patients their treatment plan.

This gives patients the ability to prevent other disease from developing in the body such as gingivitis or other gum disease which can lead to more severe problems, like heart attacks. Not only are the work environment people oriented but the fixable schedule of the job is great also. One of the biggest perks of working as a dental hygienist is the flexible scheduling. In this field, many different types of work schedules are common, including full-time, part-time or just weekends.

My schedule is great for me because it allows me the opportunity to follow one of my dreams which is to open a teen center to help teenagers follow their dreams and help groom them into becoming good citizens. On weekends, which is convenient for me because of my week day schedule and the teenagers who are not in school, would be great for holding special events such as seminars or taking field trips. Helping to groom teenagers is another way that I can contribute back to my country. Many dental hygienists are even employed at multiple offices, working one or two days per week in each one.

This will help me to build my clientele and allow me to meet new people. Not only is this good for me but my patients as well; if they relocate from one place to another they will be able to see me at whichever office is closer to them. This is also advantageous for me because earnings for dental hygienists vary based on education, experience, and location. I will be able to get more experience and increase in salary. Hygienists may be paid on an hourly or daily salary, or commission basis. Dental hygienists make annual earnings of about $64,910 in a year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

While you might occasionally have to squeeze your personal schedule to fit the demands of a busy dental office, most dental hygienists are able to set their own work hours to meet the needs of their hectic lives. As for me, I will set my schedule to work in the day not night because I will want to pick up my daughter and spend quality time with my family at night. I am a family-oriented person so this works out perfect for me. On Sundays going to church and having family gatherings is a tradition in my family; this is a tradition that I will continue to honor. There are many reasons why people consider a career in dentistry.

For some it’s the appeal of the salary income, or for the title it holds, but for me it’s the passion that I have for helping people, the flexible scheduling and the comfortable working environment. Being a dental hygienist can offer the best of both worlds as the career doesn’t require the same amount of schooling as to becoming a dentist, but still allows people to educate the public, work in a dental office and have somewhat flexible hours. I can honestly say I love every aspect of the dental field. When you love doing your job, it will not feel like a job but it becomes a hobby.
