Goal setting is one important aspect of organizational governance and management. It involves the process of setting the functions and roles of the organization, as well as formulating general and specific goals and objectives that the organization should accomplish. Another objective of the Greenpeace International is to act in order to modify or transform the conduct and behavior, as well as way of thinking of individuals to promote peace and environmental causes worldwide.
Greenpeace International has cited six ways in order to attain their objectives: (1) promote changes in use of energy, (2) protecting bodies of water around the world and counter human acts which result to water pollution and endangerment of marine life, (3) safeguarding and forests and plants, as well as animals in order to maintain the production of sources that mankind gains from it, (4) advocating for global peace and solidarity, (5) limiting and reducing the use of toxic chemicals that harm the environment, and (6) promoting responsible, safe, and legitimate farming and agriculture.

(Greenpeace Australia Pacific, 2008) The goals and objectives of Greenpeace International follow the desirable characteristics of what goals and objectives should be. The preservation of the environment to sustain human and animal life, as well as the promotion of peace around the world is sustainable, measurable, achievable, and realistic goals.
Moreover, the goals are specific and cover complementary and homogenous objectives. It is not broad, although it covers an extensive area of human life and space, because it is framed on specific actions (i. e. energy revolution, forest and animal preservation, etc. ) to attain organizational goals and objectives. Other information is also relayed on the Greenpeace International Website as to who is responsible for carrying out solutions (local or regional offices, Greenpeace research centers, etc.
) The primary goals of Greenpeace International (humanitarian and environmental causes) will be best addressed by in depth background and historical research, as well as brainstorming in order to look for probable solutions that will solve environmental and human problems. Once the best solutions are chosen and are ordered according to effectiveness, it is best to employ help from other organizations and governments for efficient implementation and directing of solutions.
