The nature versus nurture debate concentrates on the argument whether a person is born the method we are i.e. being born wicked or the way we are brought up by parents/guardian and our surroundings and whether they make us the way we are i.e. if a child is aggressive, is it due to the fact that they are raised in an aggressive environment. Determinism is the belief that your future is fixed or figured out by what you have genetically inherited or either by your social environment and experience.
Choice and interaction is the option to determinism and is the belief that individuals are able to take control of their own lives through the options they make, like complimentary will. Some people have the belief that whatever is fixed by nature or nurture or that whatever is a matter of choice. Nevertheless, it needs to be thought about that human life involves an interaction of nature, support and the decisions and choices that individuals make.
Biological shows is your genes. Genes provide the directions for structuring amino acids which in turn affect the proteins within our body cells thus programming chemical basis of our biology. Our body shape, size and behaviour all depend on the interaction of our biology with broader environmental. Human beings are a result of the interaction of genes and the environmental influences they are exposed to. Maturation theory is a highly biological theory which regarded kid development as an evolutionary approach where there is a genetically figured out series of occasions that unfold immediately.
It is believed that advancement has a biological process that happens in predictable stages over time. Some aspects of advancement, such as the capability to speak a mother tongue, are thought to be due to the integrated hereditary process. It is stated that kids naturally end up being interested in the noises and indications that they see around them and the capability to speak 'unfolds'. Although development may be guided by genes, genes can’t operate without the environment. A child born Deaf will not start to speak a language, instead the child will learn to sign and communicate using sign language, if people in the child’s environment use this system. The environment always interacts with a person’s genetic inheritance including during maturational processes. In the nature nurture debate feral children can support people’s arguments. A feral child is a human child who has lived in isolation from human contact from a young age and has no experience of human care, loving or social behaviour and even human language. Feral children often become mentally and physically impaired. There are a few examples of feral children like Genie who wasn’t discovered until she was 13 as her dad kept her confined in a room for all of her childhood. Genie was never spoken too so she had no first language. When genie was found she had the body of a 7 year old girl. Another example of a feral child was Oxana whose parents left her in kennels with several dogs and she lived there until she was rescued at 8 years old. She had the exact features of a dog and it took a lot to get out of the habits.
There is no denying that both nature and nurture both play a part in a person’s true identity. When it comes to genes and environment, one of the two has a greater influence on a person. One’s nurture has the most influence on who a person is and will become. One’s nature only gives them an identification of what they look like by genetics. Both nature and nurture is a part of who we are, but genetics doesn’t show who we really are as a human being. The first reason environment has a greater influence is because education is a result to how someone thinks. The second reason environment has a greater influence on a person is because people around them reflect them as a person.
The third reason why environment has a greater influence is because the location of someone affects their views. Secondly, nurture overrules nature because intelligence is learned. No one has a dumb brain, just like no one has a genius brain. All humans have the same functioning brain, however not all brains receive the same information. The education a person is given affects the way they think and the level of intelligence they possess. Someone who goes to a scholarly private school is going to have a higher intellect level than someone who goes to a less fortunate public school. A person’s education affects their intelligence, beliefs, behaviors, and how they carry themselves as a whole.
