My Theory of Counseling

Qualities, Morals, and Beliefs are the essential elements that play a part in a person's self-identity. The foundation of these elements shape human instincts, behavior, and the development of a person's purpose in life. The basis of these essential elements have contributed to my desire to become a counselor. The comprehension of human instincts rely on the idea that there are a lot of natural distinctive characteristics which includes an individual's perspectives, feeling, and acting that everyone will generally have.

The theory of counseling that I like best is the Humanistic Approach theory.

I would feel very comfortable utilizing this methodology with my clients because counseling clients with a humanistic approach will give them a chance to explore innovativeness, self-awareness, and self-improvement, as well as recognizing an as variety of decisions. The establishments of the humanistic approach will provide the client with a more profound comprehension of what their identity is, the emotions that they feel and the chance to explore the possibility of making personal decisions.

It also encourages self-awareness and self-acknowledgment. Humanistic therapists care most about the present and helping their clients accomplish their most elevated potential. Rather than energy being spent on the past or on negative behaviors, humanists have confidence in the integrity of everyone and prioritize an individual's self-development and self-actualization.

Humanistic theories include client-centered, Gestalt and existential treatments. Carl Rogers created client-centered treatment, which is focused on the belief that the clients can control their own destination. Gestalt therapists' work concentrates more on what is happening at the time versus what is being said during a therapy session. however, Existential therapists help the clients in discovering the importance in their lives by concentrating on freedom, self-assurance, and responsibility.

If an individual feel as though his or her life is dull and exhausting, I would utilize a humanistic point of view that would urge the individual to do some soul-searching and while trying to figure out what is missing, for example, a hobby, companionships, or a relationship. Whatever it takes for the individual to feel completely self-actualized is the thing that ought to be used as a source for treatment. The humanistic perspective empowers the gestalt treatment, which is an extraordinary kind of treatment that urges an individual not to allow the past to influence the present while focusing on the here and now as opposed to anything else. Family treatment is another example of the humanistic perspective that I would use in my practice. With this kind of treatment, it would allow families to discuss their relationships with each other in order to support and reinforce those relationships, particularly when families are experiencing hard times, for example, substance abuse or divorce. Another example of the humanistic perspective is for an individual to concentrate on their strengths instead of their flaws. The individual will be urged to not look past his or flaws as he or she progresses in the direction of a more complete and fulfilled life.

In the humanistic perspective, throughout the world it is for the most part respected that every individual have similar needs, which highlights the similarities between all mankind as opposed to the numerous differences. It is an approach that accepts human relationships and interactions are of fundamental significance. Social contrasts are not seen in the humanistic perspective as being the aftereffect of the differences in human instinct. However, they are seen as substantial methods for moving toward life. This enables the humanistic perspective to underscore the value of mankind. The humanistic perspective incorporates the possibility of self improvement. This means that an individual can be in charge of their own satisfaction, and that an unhappy or disappointed individual can make some changes in his or her life that will result in their inevitable joy and self-actualization.

Sensitivity training at a place of business is an example of the humanistic perspective, this where where people are educated to view those they work with as having similar needs and desires like themselves. It is a method for making light of the differences in body structure, culture, race, and beliefs in addition to other things. Instead of utilizing a drug or a research-centered approach to therapy, the humanistic perspective supports a methodology that focuses on the distinctive individual and their individual needs and desires. The humanistic perspective believes that individuals look for worth, meanings, and creativity in everything that they do. It comprehends that individuals have objectives and that reaching these objectives is significant to them. It likewise understands that people can settle with decisions that will influence them and others, thus those decisions carry an awareness of others expectations.

The humanistic perspective was significantly influenced by phenomenal psychologists, such as Carl Rogers, Abraham Maslow, Fritz Perls, and Gardner Murphy. The Humanistic approach provided people with an alternative decision in concentrating on acknowledging human capacities in areas, for example, creativeness, self-improvement, and decision-making. Two of the major names that are associated with this approach are Carl Rogers and Abraham Maslow. Carl Rogers was seen the most by numerous individuals as the individual who approached the cause of humanistic psychology. Rogers' client-centered therapy and person-centered psychology revealed and confirmed the contrasts between humanistic psychology as well as behavioral and psychodynamic ways to deal with personality. Rogers considered people to be logical creatures covered by unjustifiable needs. He thought becoming more acquainted with and comprehending the power of those unreasonable needs on one's behavior was what humanistic therapy was about.

Out of all the many events that have occurred throughout my life that have brought me to my own self-insight and personal growth actually started when I began dating at 18 years old up until now. from the age of 18 to the age of 30, I have been in a total of 5 relationships so far. In each relationship I have learned so much about myself, both mentally and emotionally. when it comes down to knowing myself physically and spiritually, that part came about during my adolescence years. Self-knowledge and self-awareness is one of key elements that help me in my personal development.

I truly believe that Self-confidence is the essential element in everything that I accomplish in life because, with the appropriate amount, I am willing to try almost anything. I tend to continue developing my very own personal growth by utilizing the self-disclosure strategy. Self-disclosure is a strategy that allows me to look more profoundly and genuinely at myself in order to gain more knowledge about what my identity is and how I work. This process of self-inquiry and genuine self-reflection is fundamental for development and incredible; when done intentionally and with expectation. Each individual who has accomplished greatness has experienced a process of self-revelation. The practice of self-disclosure welcomes one to open up to the experience of happiness and ecstasy by simply being and unwinding. It likewise helps an individual explore new places within themselves in order to find renewed qualities, greater love and profound knowledge.

Self-Mastery is another method that I intend to continue developing my own personal growth. Self mastery is the direction that a person holds toward his or herself and the world. It is a commitment to endless improvement. It is based on the realization that there are portions of us that will consistently attempt to keep us down. Since I am more focused on the path of self-mastery, I'm happy that I'm able to discover approaches so I can continue to rise above my fears. Personal mastery infers that one has possess the self-awareness that is essential in order to recognize the source of one's resistance and the innovativeness to discover ways beyond it.
